Screw the drama, this thread isn't under the control of the science police and until the mods say "no religion outside of the religion section" it's fine. I thought your posts were very interesting socrates. I have heard of atheists who read religious texts purely for the ancient wisdom actually.

Ancient wisdom, riiiight. There is no subject that we aren't more knowledgeable and educated about today, than we were millenia ago. Atheists and historians read ancient texts for insights into people and their way of life back then and they mostly discover just how ignorant we were.

AXnycs post pretty much sums it up
He's basically sharing other stuff that helps/supports the view here. And while his sources may not be completely objective he's not throwing this out in an in objective manner. I didn't read most of his other post only the initial one but all he simply did was share what others in the past did. By viewing this as some religious coop you yourself aren't looking at it objectively lol. I dont see any threat of shoving his religious **** down your throat. In fact I'd say you guys are shoving your opinions down his throat. Either way neither of you have an authority to dictate what goes on in this thread. And by basically jumling his ass for one post to begin with is pretty sad tbh
Why can't we all just chill and be constructive.
Also I'd like to note: I'm not religious at all. I'm a diest which means I don't follow any actual religion. No Fap since Feb 3/2013.

Socrates, you said your not Muslim, why do you then care for religious dogma?
I dont think there is any great wisdom to it, but rather some guys observation. Thats it. Back in those times in Arabia the women where seen as trash, and nothing but sex symbols. In other words, women where seen as nothing but **** meat. If you dont know then look into it. They where covered from head to toe and so if a man seen a womens knees (maybe his friends wife) he woulld probably go to his tent and jerk off considering he didnt have a women to rape in that minute. Masturbation would have happen as they too are only human. And so what, some guy jerked off a lot and noticed a few things then created a religion out of it.
We also know that the muslim prophet Muhammad was a VERY highly sexed man. He was known to have at least 11 wives, sex with slaves, concubines and his child bride starting at age 9. He was said to have started "thighing" Aisha from 6 years old because of her "small size" and she hadnt matured yet. I had to exhale just writing that. Sex with children was seen as a normal acceptable practice. So anyway, as I was saying, Muhammad was crazy into sex (according to their book) and was said to have slept with all his wives all in one night, every night. He was said to have had (sexual) powers. So look, masturbation is always going to provoke guilt and shame, its hard wired in our brains, and another reason for that is cleanliness. After masturbating, how would those ancient arabs wash themselves. Its not like they had a running tap of water or showers. And they didnt have cum tissues to flush down the toilet. No, serious. Im being serious here. Having an unwashed penis , cum in a cloth that would stink and then soil and dry up, and doing something in private which involves playing with your own private STINKING parts that nobody is supposed to know about would have caused lots of bad feelings. Then we need to remember that Islam is also greatly about war and fighting. Im not putting Islam down now, in fact I think its probably the best religion, but moving on, I did see a statistic that the Quran is X% (a high ****ing majority) related to war and only like 20% original religious content. So anyway, in the case of war, if man is masturbating how will he have the strength to go off to war?
Why do you disregard what the doctors of today say and instead choose to go with the ancients ? Doesnt make sense. The ancients once thought the the world was flat, but today we know better. Dont even get me started on religious errors.
Masturbation is healthy, but done in excess it can come with various problems especially in todays age with high speed internet. Pornography and sex addiction has increased in the past 10-20 years with the birth of the internet. And prior to VHS and sex shops even less so. Having said that I think there will always be a shame or guilt or what ever you want to call it related to masturbation and the use of porn , ie otherwise known as "dirty movies". its a shameful act. Iv spoken about why its shameful in other posts. Just quickly to reinterate, 1) we hid it from our parents 2) it involves our private parts that are also used for urinating, 3) it goes hand in hand with porn, ie "dirty movies", and 4) who where we thinking about 5) we do it in private and nobody is supposed to know.

How old are you Bro? You can't be too old if you're in school right? Since after high school, I have constantly moved back and forth from an apartment to my mom's until I got a decent paying job with a utility a year and a half ago and I'm 35. This economy sucks, I'm very fortunate to be where I am at now, but it took a lot of trials and tough times.
Since I'm probably a lot older than you I can tell you, that you definitely need to believe in yourself and know that you are far more capable than you or others may think about yourself. If you don't believe in yourself no one else will. Listen to your passions and desires and you can achieve those desires through willpower/discipline and determination. My advice is to take a career guidance course at your college if you need more direction. I would also recommend a therapist if you have issues that you need adressed. I had one a few years back and she was very helpful in giving encouragement and advice to motivate me to make changes in my life. Also, don't listen to naysayers. You will find many negative people, even those you may think are good friends who are insecure about you possibly achieving success in your lie.

For what it's worth I merely said I was UNCOMFORTABLE with Socrates posting those articles, I never requested their removal. I actually felt queasy reading the second and third article due to how ignorant they are. You're correct in that he can post whatever he wants, but there's nothing stopping an impressionable mind from reading them and taking them as fact. He posted no disclaimer, and neither do the sources admit their gross bias/understanding of the human body.
And don't try to refute the potential of anyone's minds being melded into following such ideology, if the potential wasn't there religion would barely function.
There's a troll website out there which goes into great lengths about how masturbation causes partial blindness, warping of limbs and destruction of the immune system. And I've seen people believe it wholeheartedly simply because the website exists. I don't want people coming in here and having those kinds of concepts instilled in them.

thats the way man. Dont think about it, do it.
I seen a psychologist a few weeks ago and got a huge amount of benefit from it. Its good because he asks questions which tests the strength of my own beliefs.
I got mine govenment funded and dont pay a cent. I dont know if they also do it in America but go to your doctor and see if you can get any govenment funding or subsidised to see a psychologist to treat anxiety and addiction (internet). Then you can talk about anything when you get there. You need talk therapy.
Also if you feel more comfotable seeing a female then request it. Or, maybe you prefer a male or dont care either way. My new psychologist is male and I dont mind it one bit. In the past I had a female and thats what i wanted, but I find this guy far superior to beatriz.
Izzo, a therapist will be the best decision you'll make, so dont put it off. Forget about Dardaz and Tobias and hunter, realistically your not going to get nowhere with them or ANYONE online. Not saying they dont give good advice. You need someone you can follow up with again and again.
And remember, Tony Soprano also sees a therapist .Last edited by MegaPump; 12-16-2014 at 01:02 AM.

What Mega said ^^^^
We are all just spouting advice and opinions on here, some true - some not. At the end of the day you have to do the leg work and in real world terms going and having a chat with with a pro could be a great first step in the right direction man.
Also, check out the Jonah complex, you very well may have it, after all you do seem like a fairly smart chap, but yeah take what Mega said and run with it. But always remember at the end of the day, it's up to you and only you.
Edit: By the way man I've got nearly as bad a track record as you lol But I've no doubt if we all keep at it, we alll gunna make it !Last edited by MickyBoii; 12-16-2014 at 05:22 AM.

Great! I had a very understanding and helpful female therapist, but I'm sure there are some great make therapists out there also. If I were you I would definitely search for reviews of therapists online before you make your decision.
29? Dude at 30 I'm sure I had it worse than you. I got laid off, took a $14,000 loan with my mom as co signer to go to electric lineman school, and then broke my scaphoid bone towards the end of school. My right hand was in a cast for almost 4 months and I couldn't find a job for a year and a half because I was right in the midst of the Great Recession. A therapist helped big time because she helped me talk my problems out and gave me some very good advice and direction. If I didn't have this therapist's help,I might have given up hope and still be unemployed, living at my mom's, feeling pity for myself and wasting my life surfing the Internet all day. Instead, I am working for one of the largest Utilities in America making a decent living for myself. Just don't ever give up hope and keep on trying no matter how many times you may fail bro.eventually you will be where you want to be in life if you keep that attitude.Last edited by Mattryan035; 12-16-2014 at 04:29 PM.

Day 5. Last fap was quite a binge and the next day was quite depressing, so instead of telling myself that this was the last one, I actually meant it. I usually fap about 1 or 2 times per week, but because I made conscious decision to give that **** up for good, on day 5 my mood is a whole lot better than it would have been if I decided to maybe fap on day 6. I was seriously smiling throughout the whole day and my energy was up the ****ing roof. The notion of putting your foot on the ground and saying "NO", has such a huge effect and empowering effect.
Watching youtube videos of Gary Wilson were also the factor which motivated me to make this decision. Looking forward to long-term effects. Been out of the scene for far too long.

ok, I have decided to see a counselor/therapist. My school has counseling services and spring semester starts in January 2015. I am on break now.
When I see the counselor, how do I exactly state what my problem/s are and why I am seeing him/her? Do I just give him/her a rundown of all my issues:
Am a virgin
obese/275 lbs.
Have no car
Have no job/am broke
Social Anxiety/Self esteem issues
low social status/fa status
addicted to porn and fapping
addicted to internet message boards
when I am home I spend 15-18 hours a day on misc and looking at porn.
academically grades not too good/am lazy and don't study
Do I tell the counselor these are my issues? How does it work?Cobra Kai Crew

Guys in a relationship, does nofap make you more inclined to... seek other women instead of your girlfriend? Because I have noticed on my end, that if I quit watching porn, my attention goes over to real girls - random women, sometimes unconsciously, because maybe my brain feels like it needs to make up for something that is lost. So how do you cope with that urge?

Whatsup fapper *******s????
Great news guys... finally hit a all time new personal best... pretty sure I'm on day 51 today which is 2 days over my previous PR. Feels fukking great guys. I honestly don't go on the misc as much as I used to because of a new job and a flourishing social circle. No fap is seriously the bees knees guys. Stick with it, and you will see great gains. Been drinking a bit, sorry for the ****ty prose, but regardless, I wish you all the best and I plan to come here and update when I'm sober to make a more complete review of my progress. Stick with it, and keep yourself busy.ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ

Honestly noFap has made me more social, and spending more time with people had made it easier to noFap. That and gym, study, cook food, misc (DONT CLICK ANY HNNG THREAD). I spend a significant time studying so rather than study at home, I've been studying in the library since noFap. Really helps to just get out of the house. Take your laptop somewhere and misc there.
confirmed ^.
Tell the counselor, but be prepared to accept some hard answers which you should be if you really want to improve. I was literally in your shoes 5 years ago man. Exactly everything you just listed. +smoked weed too much on top of that and played too many video games. Learn to love the road of struggle (it truly can be great feels) and you won't even realize when you've passed your destination.
Brahs I feel so good for everyone in this thread. If anyone on the misc makes it, it will be us.

Day 22 now (feelsgoodman)
However had two nocturnal emissions over 2 previous nights. no dreams to accompany them. Just two releases during sleep and me waking up briefly.
Trying not to let any of that **** get me down as I honestly its out of my control and during waking hours I am following no-fap with dedication."Honor is something that all men are born with. It cannot be taken from you nor can it be granted. It must only not be lost."
