it kind of annoys me when they label people like tony abbot as being homophobic, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. not that i support abbot but he is a strict catholic from what i know and it obviously goes against his beliefs/morals

news.com and every other paper associated with it is owned by murdoch, a nutter who is known to be a mad liberal fan. Never read anything from there unless you want a bias one sided opinion. The age is much better, but you only have a max of 30 articles (go to brisbane version for unlimited).
It is quite comical how people are quick to jump to conclusions about media beat-up, half truth, lies with regards to Rudd but are happy to not only ignore the idiocy that spews out of Abbott's mouth but also his history in which he 'bullied' and 'harrassed' individuals in his early days as a liberal. You can even see his ill temperament coming to the fore in the recent debate. Unfortunately, Australia is filled with individuals who are ignorant to the actual political and policy implications of voting for a certain party and are just happy to vote for that party purely because the media has portrayed a one-sided and bias view of one party and a negative view of another. If only we had a much more educated approach to politics and then peopel would actually be able to make an informed decision. Unfortunately it is going to be 3 years of Liberal torture.

And as far as the whole gay marriage thing goes; it's a conscience vote, not one which requires economic approval. Abbott said it himself, he is but one man/vote to oppose it, if society (and thus the remaining members of parliament) want it, it will eventually happen. I'm sick of something a STUPID as this being a deciding point for some people...brb country goes to sht but so long as we have gay marriage... get fuked -_-
