Hopefully you're being deliberately obtuse, the legal system gets incredibly rich off tax dollars. Companies like cca make a profit from prisons and when theres a loss its passed back to the taxpayer.
Prisons employ tens of thousands of people, the prison unions spend millions buying senators like Frankenstein to try to keep drugs illegal here in ca
Ignoring the moral aspect It's grossly wasteful stimulus spending, Keynesian economics at its worst.

You originally post about living a rightious life, then when someone makes a mature comment that you seem to take exception to, you begin insulting them. Sweet.
Obviously, your grasp of historical fact shows that Epistemology is not one of your strong suits. You may want to go back to watching NASCAR racing or deworming your goats or is it banjo playing?

1/4 of our prison population has been convicted of a drug offense
http://www.justicepolicy.org/images/...ugTx_AC-PS.pdf
Theyre illegal because of racist legislation in the last century , but for practical reasons the wod keeps police and federal departments funded, keeps prisons full and gives police leverage over suspects. The NSA and patriot act is used largely for catching drug dealers, federal spending on the "war on terror" blurs over into the wod, trampling our civil liberties.
or are you being facetious ? It's hard to tell online sometimes. You do seem very pro govt. so maybe not.
Since you vote in my state I hope you at least are aware of the ccpoas influence on prop 184, 19, etc.

Meh, My moral obligations only pertain to me.
1) Honor God. He is the most important part of my life, because I am a very big sinner.
2)Honor, and take care of your family.
3) Treat people the way you would want to treat you.
As for as politics and American policies go? It is better that I shut my mouth on this subject.I like to ride my horses and shoot my guns

A "parody of this thread?" The OP couched an interesting and perplexing question. Seems to me there was some thought behind the post. Often, myself included, there is no thought whatsoever behind a post popped up! Not that any one of us will ever 'fix' the world's problems mind you! I'm getting old. There are things that matter, no? The world is a mess, we could all agree...then again, there are things that we could do...Ha ha ha!

Ha ha!!! I consider myself fortunate! You and I can always raise a cup of...'tea', or better yet coffee! LMAO "Real life," that ugly, daily thing that faces us each and every morning, is more than enough to fill my plate! If I were the 'king of the world' things would be different! Oh, God.....what a mess things would be! Young lady, it's simple things. Family, love, about to slap the (%*^ out of somebody daily...and coffee! Who can deal with more than that? That's enough for me.

Here I go...neither here nor there! LMAO But just why the hell not? We 'tweak' noses by the dozens, and say things that we have no business saying! LMAO Marry the lovely young lady. Just what are you waiting for brother? Sorry. I can't help it. I'm an old, conservative, knee jerk, greying around...around everything, old man! Ha ha...it's none of my business. But I've made it my own! LOL No disrespect intended. I do trust that that is understood. Ha! I don't think you could do better! Utmost respect. Just what does any of this have to do with freakin' Syria anyway?

How the freak did I miss this post?
I need to spend less time lifting, and more time in the O-35 Misc section..
SPOT the FREAK ON, AA! One thing I should also mention is how the US government during WWII was best buddies with Stalin.. And we all know what he did to 20 some plus million (27 million i think??) innocent Soviets..
It's all about the money for politicans, no doubt. This above all..

It may....or may not... make a difference. It's one of those "nature versus nurture" thingies.. All depends.. Just like everything else in life. All depends. Been all over the world and experienced many cultures.. Cultures can affect us more than we'd like to admit.
For example, I spent my teengage years in the hoods of Los Angeles. Lots of gangs there.. Lots of opportunities to belong to an exclusive brotherhood of thugs. My dad told me just once "If you join a gang, I will crack your skull!!" That's how nurtured me to NOT become a criminal. This above all..
