Alpha Russia? They are all talk. When is the last time Russia was Alpha on the world stage? Bet anything that if the US attacks Syria (which I hope Obama doesn't) Russia will do nothing directly. The UK isn't even a leader in football teams, let alone its former Empire, so where is the relevancy?

Why should the UK be more relevant than Peru? They are about the same economic living standards if you base it off health care and sq. ft. of living space.

Why should the UK be as relevant as Japan? Which has a world class fifth generation military? More of Japan's Naval fleet is newer than the British fleet, than the British puts ships to sea every year.

The Japanese economy is 4 times the UK economy in terms of PPP.

Oh, the British also lost every Grand Strategy it deployed in the last 100 years!

WW1 fought to keep the Germans from being economically superior to Britain. Germany's economy is now 2x the UK economy (FAILED)

WW2 fought to keep the British Empire intact against Japan, British Empire no longer exists (FAILED)

Post-WW2, forced US to attack Italy first to prevent Russia from taking over the Balkans, Yugoslavia became Soviet Satellite (FAILED)

Post-WW2, US 3rd Army positioned to move into Berlin, UK diverted resources to bomb Dresden as "punishment" (FAILED resulted in split Germany)

Post-WW2, vowed never to give up the Jewel of the Empire, India. Lost India.

Post-Colonalism Grand Strategy, to manage India's departure from the Empire, mismanaged the nationalism and India split into Pakistan and India but along an unsustainable boundary resulting in a civil war to ethnically cleanse the boundary regions, killing millions.

Since the Falkland's war the US has added over 50 ships and boats to its Navy including several Nimitz Class Supercarriers which can hold over 88 US War planes and their support planes.

While the UK has added only about 10 ships and boats to its blue water Navy, no new Carriers, and their 2 remaining carriers can fly about 20 planes but is limited to the types of planes namely to the harrier and other light fighter planes with limited capability.

While the US Navy can launch any plane including the F-14/F-22 and etc which are heavy Fighter-bombers capable of long range missions with large pay loads.

F-14s where phased out DECADES ago.. currently the only nation flying F-14's is Iran, and the F-22 is not a carrier capable aircraft, nor is there any plans to build one, and the FACT that the Falklands are still in British hands and Argentina is just off its coast of the Falklands, and the Brits sailed from over 8000 miles away, and those Islands are still under control of the Brits says loud and clear the Brits won.. and the Brits got a good education on modern warfare.. and Argentina to this day still whines about not having control of the Falklands.. lol.

During the time of the Falklands war, America had a 660 ship Navy, today we barely make 285... so yet again your assumptions are wrong, and have no basis in fact... Argentina lost that war, wars are seldom won or lost by lop sided margins as you somehow seem to imply.. try a history book.. it works.

we only have one carrier and we sold all of our remaining harriers to america because they aren't competitive anymore, there are 2 carriers in construction. stop talking chit
