    Counting Calories Vs. Macros???

Hey I was just curious, would only counting the amount of calories you eat during a cut and not worrying about macros have a big affect on your body composition? Does anyone do this and what kind of results did you see from only counting calories?

A lot of people will count macros until they reach fat and protein sufficiency and then only count calories after

In saying that, if you track macros you're also tracking calories

Only tracking calories and not meeting protein/fat sufficiency regularly will have negative effects as mentioned

Yea I know that counting macros is counting calories but I was talking about not worrying with the Macros as long as you hit calorie goals. As long as you hit .8 to 1gram of protein per lb of bw, would this be effective? Or is it that crucial to keep track of carbs and fats as well. I know you have to have a certain quantity of fats to maintain healthy hormone levels but I usually don't have a problem hitting fat intake lol.

This question was already answered by AT, yes not tracking your macro's and only tracking calories can have a very negative effect on your body composition.
You're contradicting yourself by saying you're only tracking calories...however you're going to ensure you're hitting your minimum on protein. If you're only tracking your calories you're not going to have a clue what your macro's are for the day and this could end in very negative results.

If you would only count one of the macros you would be better off counting carbs not protein. Carbs are the most adjustable macro nutrient and have the biggest impact on how you look and feel. I am not condoning this because I think that would be silly lol. Count all your macros.

I disagree. Fats have more of an impact
