RIP Casey.
The Colorado Experiment was a bodybuilding experiment run by Arthur Jones using Nautilus equipment at the Colorado State University in May 1973.
It is of interest due to its claims that incredible results can be achieved with a small number of sessions using single sets of high intensity repetitions to momentary muscle failure focusing on negative or lowering multi-joint exercises. The first subject, Casey Viator, was said to have gained 63 pounds of muscle in 28 days and the second, Arthur Jones, gained 15 pounds in 22 days.
These claims are considered controversial because it was only performed with two subjects who were not "average," but regaining pre-existing muscle mass.
The results of the experiment do not appear to have been repeated in a scientific study.

Very sad, Casey Viator is from lafayette, Louisiana which is where I was born and is still my current hometown. He helped put our insanely huge state of the art gym over here on the map. There are photos of him back in his competitive days all over one of the main hallways.. He def was a freak and ahead of his time in my opinion.. I'll talk to Red Lerelle (gym owner) later today and see what he has to say if he had heard anything. He was one of the bodybuilders Dorian Yates most looked up to as he was coming up by the way.
Also, guys no need to jump to conclusions and say all these negative things just because coincidentally 3 bodybuilders have passed away in the last couple of months. 2 of which are most likely due to diuretics and the post show rebound complications that can follow (not gonna type all that right here as most of you should know anyway) .. and then there is Casey's death here.. where sure, 62 isn't extremely old but it also isn't super young either.. I'm pretty sure Casey was quite over-weight as in fat in his later years, that could have very well been a contributing factor. Just saying, we can't 100% assume that his death is soley because of his bodybuilding career.. and we definitely shouldn't be saying every single bodybuilder will die an early death.. what has happened 'lately' is minuscule in the grand scheme of things (compared to the numerous amount of retired bodybuilders who are still living just fine)

He looked incredible at an early age, RIP. But back then they had a lot less knowledge about drug use, so many of those pros from back then probably did a lot of stupid things in regards of tech use. Today an insane amount of people are using cell tech, so of course we are gonna see some deaths among present day bodybuilders too. But those dying could be people with heart conditions they didn't know of or what ever. It's wrong to just blame it on cell tech alone

Remember guys that he was 62 years old. Not saying that it wasn't relatively young, just saying that more health problems exist for the entire population after a certain age. Considering this guy hasn't competed in 20+ years, I doubt that the lifestyle alone was the cause of his death.
That being said, he will be missed and my thoughts go out to his family. What is Perseverance?
-Perseverance is commitment, hard work, patience, endurance.
-Perseverance is being able to bear difficulties calmly and without complaint.
-PERSEVERANCE IS TRYING AGAIN AND AGAIN!!!
