What I don't understand is that if the deep web constitutes the vast majority of the internet how come the vast majority of the population are not aware?
Is it a small % uploading and contributing vast amounts of content.

im a regular poster in a few pretty well hidden forums, mostly made up of criminals , where we post and talk about crimes we've done or plan out scams, sceems and ways to fraud in general, mostly just brain storming with like minded people about how/why/where/ and best ways to commit said crimes.

One of my personal favorites is a hypothetical forum pertaining to the hobby of killing people. yes like a serial killer BUT minis the psychotic traits, and general mental issues of a serial killer.NOT ****ING DEXTER OR MR BROOKS, or any known real serial killer, we look at it how would a logically thinking person approach this as nothing more than his bobby
where we boil down killing people to nothing more than a hobby, like some of you collect stamps, or paint balling on the weekend.
we take out all the psycho babel and look at it as a SANE persons chosen sustainable life long hobby, discus rules to follow and detailed explanations of rules, disposal, what the differences are between hobbyist killers and sociopaths that are driven or have urges or cant control them selves.

it gets pretty deep down the psychology train at times, i first got interested in this after taking a few psych classes in college , and literally jus starting walking in to university classes tak a seat and listening to lectures, i sat through 2 full semesters of abnormal psychn classes one yr and just learned for free...

i dont know if this is deep web , but its not basic front page google ish

Deep web is human sex dolls etc i got one cost me 2.5 grand but it died. hard to main, the dude emailed me instucstions on how to maintain with hospital equipment, (drip, urin bag etc) but I got sick of it too much effort and its waste of money. Good sex tho for a while i must admit.

Did research into this maybe about a year ago.

The reason why these pics look so disburbing and scary is practically due to them being old, and black and white.

It's part of the TOR (The onion routing) project, mainly aimed at providing cryptographic anonymity online such as that unless you don't reveal personal information about yourself, nobody would know your identity.

Naturally, because of that fact, it's a safe haven for a lot of criminals wanting to discuss manners in absolute anonymity, and on the flip side - it's a good place for agents to go 'undercover' and bait stupid criminals.

But lately many idiots shout buzzwords such as 'deepweb' 'dark side of the internet' and all kind of stupid sh*t, so it gets bad rep.

Search engines don't search the entire internet. Most people think of Google as some sort of portal into the entire internet which can search the entire internet. That is not the case. Google only searches "their" internet, which basically means that Google compiles a database or whatever of all the sites that can come up in their search and then that's what you can see.

The deep internet is the rest of the internet. Basically just the bad stuff that google doesn't mess with. You use special browsers. I've been there once or twice. It's just a bunch of illegal stuff like selling overpriced drugs. Nothing worth wasting time seeing.
