Ever been to the "deep web"?

I'm just curious, is there any proof that the authorities are actively watching these sites? I read a feature article on cyber crime in the deep web and the FBI has stated that they don't even watch sites because they are too busy with reports. I hear so much about the FBI watching this or that, but I rarely hear of the FBI doing "honeypots".

To tell you the truth I'm not quite sure BUT still I wouldn't risk going to a site infected with CP. Kinda makes me wonder is the " not watching the sites because we're to busy with reports" a trap?

Wrong. Tor lets you browse somewhat anonymously when accessing regular websites. It IS capable of opening ".onion" websites, that are only accessible through TOR. Thus is why it's a darknet.

It is much easier to seize the website and prosecute the uploaders of illegal content rather than wait around and see who does what.





There was a recent story about the FBI seizing an illegal porn site and taking control of it for two weeks to see who came and downloaded. That's all I've ever heard of as far as "honeypots", besides large ones back in the early 2000s.

I can't give you a definite answer on that. I would say as long as it isn't illegal in the U.S., it's okay, but the moderators have the say as far as what gets posted here.

Most of the people have confused deepweb with darknet. It's not possible to access darknet through normal browsers. I was more saying wrong to that TOR just allows you to browse (semi)-anonymously. It's used for more, which is why I mentioned .onion sites.

Silkroad isnt deepweb, it's darknet. See my explanation on post #101.

Silkroad is legitimate, but the sellers are who you should be concerned about. Farmers Market closed a while back. Farmers Market > Silk Road. Why? Oh, because you could buy guns, weapons, etc on it.... :| (Silkroad has no weapons, I think).

To access Silkroad, you need Tor (which is why Silkroad is not on deepweb. It's on a darknet operating within Tor), and then you need to know it's ".onion" URL address. You can google that. Make sure your tor is encrypted.

Just to be safe, I run Tor in a virtual machine linux distribution named "Janus", that I can dispose of everytime that I'm done with Tor. (That way, I'm running accessing silkroad, through tor, running on a VM. It's a lot harder to track, and more private.)

Darknet websites, only accessible through TOR (or other similar programs. There's plenty of "domain" variations)

- Lots of drug sales (probably legit)
- Went to a chan board once, saw some really disturbing images that I won't talk about here (sickest chit I ever saw by far, and I used to frequent 4chan).
- Obviously phone medical experiments site
- Interesting site about computer programming optimization (research interest of mine)
- Lots of conspiracy sites
- Bootlegged good sales (could be fake, dunno)
- Revolutionary stuff (not just Egypt/Syria, but some European country movements as well; didn't see any American).

What I have heard is there but haven't seen
- Fights to the death
- Man vs animal fight to death
- Mad scientist chit
- Area 51 chit (I doubt this but heard it)

im a regular poster in a few pretty well hidden forums, mostly made up of criminals , where we post and talk about crimes we've done or plan out scams, sceems and ways to fraud in general, mostly just brain storming with like minded people about how/why/where/ and best ways to commit said crimes.

One of my personal favorites is a hypothetical forum pertaining to the hobby of killing people. yes like a serial killer BUT minis the psychotic traits, and general mental issues of a serial killer.NOT ****ING DEXTER OR MR BROOKS, or any known real serial killer, we look at it how would a logically thinking person approach this as nothing more than his bobby
where we boil down killing people to nothing more than a hobby, like some of you collect stamps, or paint balling on the weekend.
we take out all the psycho babel and look at it as a SANE persons chosen sustainable life long hobby, discus rules to follow and detailed explanations of rules, disposal, what the differences are between hobbyist killers and sociopaths that are driven or have urges or cant control them selves.

it gets pretty deep down the psychology train at times, i first got interested in this after taking a few psych classes in college , and literally jus starting walking in to university classes tak a seat and listening to lectures, i sat through 2 full semesters of abnormal psychn classes one yr and just learned for free...

i dont know if this is deep web , but its not basic front page google ish
