    Whey protein per workout, good to take post workout? Or is it just a waste

    Take it to meet your daily protein needs (which is 0.8g per lb of weight). It doesnt matter whether that comes from whey or chicken. It also doesnt matter if you take your shake pre, post or hours after your workout.

    Ohhh that makes sense. So if I was 90 kg how much protein should I be getting a day?

    LOL... Its not hard to do the maths. 200*0.8 = 160g of protein per day.

    Whey is a Supplement which means you SUPPLEMENT to reach your protein intake via Whey Protein. So the premise is it should come mostly whole foods first and foremost and using whey when you cannot get real food in your diet.

    Protein powder should be used to help you meet your protein macros if you cant through whole foods. It is not specifically needed post workout, and timing is pretty irrelevant when compared to hitting your daily macros.

    It's ok to take at anytime as long as you're reaching your macronutrient goals for the day. Timing does not matter unless you're training fasted. If that's the case, then a shake right after your workout would be pretty beneficial.
