    Shoulders

I'm 17 and I've been training seriously for about 8 months, I've made some good gains seeing as its only a shirt period of time, but my shoulders will not grow at all, any exercises or workout techniques that could help? I've heard about muscle confusion, drop sets etc. what actually works??

I had this and it's because I only did pressing movements try lateral raises?

I've recently had great results from using wide grip upright rows with a dumbbell to compliment lateral raises. Also keep your shoulder workout balanced, not forgetting to incorporate low-weight, high-rep rear delt work too.

Here's my current (delt only) routine. I hit traps on either back day or delt day depending on how I'm feeling or how my split works out.

    Seated bent over rear laterals
    10 lb dbs - 60's for 15 reps in increments of 5.

Reverse pec deck 7 sets of 15

Barbell military press 2 sets of 15 (warm up)
    3 sets of 6-12

    Side laterals
    7 sets of 15 FST-7 style

    Upright rows
    3-4 sets of 10-12

    Db military press
    4 sets 8-15

I've found high volume works the best for my delts. You might be different. There's a routine yo can try...

    ........what actually works??
Getting on a structured beginner program, and then sticking with it's progression scheme over a long period of time is what 'actually works.'

It should go without saying that proper nutrition and rest are the other two legs of the tripod.
    No brain, no gain.

"The fitness and nutrition world is a breeding ground for obsessive-compulsive behavior. The irony is that many of the things people worry about have no impact on results either way, and therefore aren't worth an ounce of concern."--Alan Aragon

    'Muscle confusion' is a myth.

Just up your volume or frequency and your shoulders will grow. What worked well for me was to hit the delts twice a week (9 total sets each session). Focus on lateral raises and use both, dumbbells and the cable system.

I superset two of my shoulder workouts at a time. I have pretty good side delts but my rear delts lack. I think my shoulders are the best party aesthetically on my body and that's not much. Try supersetting
