It's standard over here. It's much handier I think cause I can now drive manual and automatic on one license.

Yes.
Automatic transmissions typically break once you increase the torque output by about 50% more than factory specs. You can do valve body modifications but that only takes you so far.
Currently I'm rocking a 600 hp atw four wheel drive with a HKS triple-plate clutch. First time I drove it I was limping after I got out, like calf raises from hell brah. Have to blip the throttle on the downshift to avoid compression locking the rear treads.

In the UK if you learn and take your test in an automatic car you only be licensed to drive an automatic car. If you learn to drive a manual, stick shift, car then you will be licensed to drive both.Originally Posted by onelifenoregret

First time I drove an automatic I became sleepy after half an hour. Shifting gears keeps me awake in slow traffic during rush hour.
