    My deadlift

Hi. My sister's boyfriend is a power lifter and he told me that you can have an arched back while deadlifting, as long as it doesn't hurt your back and you aren't using ALL of your back.

He works out at Orlando Barbell, and he had a guy in there with an old world record deadlift and he had a slumped back, deadlifting 900 something pounds.

I really need to know, is he right?

    Pleasepleaseplease respond. Thx

Can you? Yes. Would I? No.

Powerlifting is about putting up the most weight - this usually means minimizing the range of motion. The form used for powerlifting can be very different that BBing for building aesthetic muscle.

Look at powerlifting deadlift\benching videos - you rarely see bodybuilders lifters lift like that. Additionally, the youtubes\internets can answer these questions for you.
