    Forearm strength and size help.

    Hey everyone,
During my dead lift working set(275lbs) and shrug working set(225lbs) it always seems that my grip is what is hindering my ability to increase the weight I'm putting up. Anybody have any recommendations that helped you gain forearms strength thus gaining size in your forearms as well.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you tried using straps or gloves?

I've had the same prob as you. If I didn't have straps during DLs the weights would keep sliding out of my hands and I can't get past 5-6 reps.

I can't seem to figure out how to quote more than one person at a time on the app. Sorry. I was more specifically asking for isolation exercises to specifically target my forearms. I've been doing fore curls and extensions but haven't seen results.

I would not suggest this at all. I started deadlifting about a year and half into my lifting career, and since my legs and back were pretty strong already, my grip was the first thing to go out on heavier deadlift weights - it was discouraging. But using gear (straps and gloves) will not help train your grip strength as well as just manning up and practicing raw. It doesn't happen overnight, but something that helped my DL grip tenfold was rack pulls and pausing at the top of the movement. Check em out.
    Positive crew!

I can pull 500 w/ straps and 475 raw. You shouldn't have much more of a difference than that in your training. For me when I train I will use straps for my main working set then all backdowns will be non strapped. This way my heaviest pulls I am not letting grip limit me but grip is still being trained as backdown set weight will increase over time.
    Focus - the key?
