Dark Horse vs body solid gpr 378 vs powertec... The winner is Body Solid

I was debating between dark horse, body solid gpr andpowertec. Dh very expensive (1000 without plate storage) and didnt have a good experience with customer service and quote. I just bought a body solid gpr378 for $ 420 (395. + 25 lift gate). It is good choice, sturdy. Following Dwightdegroff post good deal. I really recommend the advice. I will keep you post it with pictures if you want guys.

By the way, I can't put the website because I don't have 50 posts but look Dwightdegroff post.

I have had the GP378 almost a year and its a good rack for the money. It fits my needs and I will not be replacing it any time soon. However I will never place it on the same level as the more expensive and much higher quality racks, that would just be foolish. To be realistic.. the GPR 378 is a nice home grade import rack at a lower price than its other imported competitors.

If you're really 6'11 I am not sure The rack will work for you. I think its only 79" tall.

According to bodysolid website 82Hx49x46. Yes, I am 6'11". Do you think I am going to have problems. Maybe overhead presses... I am concerned about that..

By the way, what bench are you using?. Any good fit for the rack you recommend?. Ironmaster, pendlay adjustable.

82" minus the 3" steel = 79" of useable space. It's a very short rack. You might want to get a helmet. Overhead presses will only work if you are pressing the rack.

Is been stated over and over here for over 10 months that body solid is smoking dope on their listed measurements. When I bought my rack I was slightly disappointed to find the shorter spec but it works OK at my height, but at 6 11 I think you will not like a 79" rack. Call Matt and make sure of what your getting, they could have revised the rack as they have made several changes.

No Its really 79" tall and others have come up with the same measurement.

I will fit much different benches than you because of the height difference. I recommend not using the iron-master. Something with an open footprint will make life MUCH easier when dealing with the rear cross member.

Crazy, so really 76" inside. My buddy has one but I've never paid attention that closely. I just know its small and has a cross member that is in the worst possible place.

I just measured my 10 month old 378 rack 77" inside, 79 outside sitting in the carpet, so maybe 1/2" more because of sink. Its a 3x2 top rail.

Understood. I do recall (now that you mention it) that it is 3x3 and 2x3.

Ok guys. I just took my measure. Actually I am around 5'11. I was wrong. So, I think your measure is the same.

    Ouch, shrinkage.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?
