    Where did you find that 10-12% is optimal for growth? Do you ever notice how people who come out of a cut and then add in calories seem to contintually hit PR's or make strength gains? Even some people who cut 20 or so pound start making PR's at a lighter weight because their strength/fat ratio has increased. Muscle Mass is more important than BF% when it comes to strength gains in the grand scheme of things. You do not have to be a certain BF% range to make optimal gains. When you are leaner your body can handle more kcals, your metabolism will increase due to increase muscle mass (depending on weight of course) and you will have a great insulin sensativity compared to someone who is fat and out of shape.

    Many benefits behind being lean, and how you can prime yourself for better gains in the future. Body is able to handle more kcals, with more kclas and more food = More growth in the grand scheme of things when woody can push the surplus and also hold a leaner physique while doing so and making adequate strength gains.

    Dunno what was up with yesterday- I looked lean as hell in the afternoon.
    I got home from the hike Sunday and ate prob 2500+ cals in three hours with total disregard to macros, and even washed it down with a bedtime beer. Refeed of peace ?

    Thanks Dude! Took the bulk real slow so I didn't gain much fat. 3-4 month reverse diet paid off

    Decent session today! Really hit the bench hard and heavy the past few weeks so I dialed the weight back and nailed some reps today. Felt good!
