They have the same kind of problems all 10 year old american cars have: squeaks, rattles, that kind of stuff. Several "terminator only" parts (that were better than their GT/v6 counterparts) have already been discontinued by ford like the radiator and fuel tank.
Even so, they're cool cars, and relatively easy to make sick power with if you spend the money on the ancillary parts (26 spline tranny input shaft, new bushings for rearend, fuel system upgrades) in addition to cranking up the boost.** KNEE DRAGGERS UNITE **

For y'all who have purchased mustangs new before, is it more fun and cost efficient to do performance upgrades yourselves or get the performance/track package? Or whatever it's been called..

Still haven't found the one brahs . (some of you might not the feel, either overpriced or not it).
People are going to give you different answers. I myself have not modded a mustang (nor currently own one, for sure i'll have one before September). But, if you like the manual labor you will probably have fun. If you plan on taking the beta route and, for any small thing go to a bodyshop/mechanic than you'd be better off with said package. Moreover, i kind of like the idea of the car coming to life little by little. Don't rush it. Also, i'm sure that you can still do plenty of projects (Majority will be Aesthetics). As for cost-effective, i'm not sure. I imagine its aroung 1-5k extra and, that the upgrades are SVT or Ford racing. Would depend on what brand/what projects you want.
Cliffs:
IMO
- BRB Not owning a mustang... yet
- BRB If you like the manual labor and have the tools do your project than Modding is the way to go
- BRB if you are a beta that will solely do everything in a bodyshop/ with a mechanic than go with said package
- BRB you can still have projects to do with said package (Aestheic)
- BRB i can't tell you whats cheaper because i don't know what you want
Hope i helped you, mane.**Manchester United Crew**

IMO, just depends on what your plans for upgrades are.
But it helps to have an idea of what parts cost and how much labor generally is. I think it's more economical to do my own labor...the only thing I personally didn't feel like messing with on any of my cars are gears. I've never learned how to set them up and it's on of those things I just don't want to take the chance of having to redo. Other than that, if you have the tools/skillset more often than not it's going to save you money to mod yourself."Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard"
