Finally put some good snow tires on my 14 S4.....this thing is such a beast in the snow....not a single **** is given anymore if it snows. There is no way i can ever own an none AWD car in NY.

I had this actually happen on a car before. Check the brake pedal, there is some kind of spring or sensor or some chit down there that detects when it is pressed in which is what closes the circuit for the brake lights. I dont remember exactly what it was doing (my dad fixed it, he adjusted it in like 30 seconds). This was a 1993 car so IDK if they have some kind of fancy chit that ties into the ECU and all of that these days but I would start by checking that.
I remember driving around and everyone on the road was avoiding me and going around cause they thought my brakes were on but they werent.

*Advice needed*
So my 99 Stratus winter beater kicked the shytter this weekend (broken ball joint, coil spring, pretty much the whole front left strut) The repairs amounted to $400 more than I paid for the car so I had it scrapped.
I need a new beater and quick (I've had a few close calls trying to drive the Stangs in winter weather). Been getting lots of ice and snow and where i live it doesnt stop till April. I want a black, manual sedan, and theres a used dealership near me with an 06 Passat, 102k miles. Guy wants 6k for it. I love the look of it and everything but I cant afford to put money into repairs for a beater. Are these cars as unreliable as legend tells? Maintenance issues? I know, carfax, was the car maintained, etc etc. I just need a general idea of whether or not its even worth it or if I should just stick with American cars.Last edited by wheynweed; 02-17-2015 at 05:15 PM.

Absolutely love it. Best car iv ever had. Iv had it for almost a year now and i can't help but grin still, everytime i get into it. IMO if you live somewhere where there is winter, its the best DD you can get. Im biased though.
As far as tunes, i would aboslutely love to do it but im gonna hold off this time. I had an A5 which i chipped and dealer gave me a lot of trouble for it and didn't want to cover certain things under warranty. If you fight them you can prove that chip has nothing to do with other parts of the engine but you gotta fight them anytime you want to get something done. Im gonna wait until its outta warranty. Othewise Id definitely go straight for Stage II with a drop......would be so hnnnnnnnnnngggggg. We'll see.♦ ɴɣϲ ϲrew ♦

depends who you ask. I went from ST coils on my A6 with <2" of clearance to the set up i have now on my A4. Im not as worried about bumps or driveways as i was in my A6 but i rub way more in the rear. Thats mainly because of the tires im running. A6 was 225 and the A4 has S5 wheels and 255 tires.

Any of my bros here use FCP Euro in the past?
They guarantee parts for life, even wear and tear items like brake pads and spark plugs. Buy it once and if (when) it goes bad send it back and they will send you a brand new part.

Whatsup crew? Looking for some advice from fellow Volks/Audi brahs.
I'm currently driving a 2013 A5. Premium Plus, pretty loaded. Love the car, but definitely want to hop to something new when my lease is up in 6 months. I'm way under the mileage allotment, so I know I can drive a really good deal on a new lease/purchase. Don't want to put money down, and happy to go up to ~900-1k per month on payments. I'm itching for a convertible, but flexible. Do I:
S5 coupe - new lease
S5 convertible - new lease
RS5 couple? - a few years old
S4/S6?
Thoughts? Would love some opinions.Singer and Bassist of The Stu Tails (all misc band) - check out Feels Good Man and White Knight - 2 songs dedicated to the misc

Thanks, appreciate the feedback. My only concern with the RS5 is that it falls somewhere in no-man's land in terms of pricing. If I stepped up to the RS5, why not go with a hardtop convertible M4? Or regular M4? Love Audis, but paying $70k+ for the RS5 seems a bit steep. Or am I way off?

Came here to post my classic Audi. I will take a picture of my actual 1988 Audi 90 when the weather clears and I have a chance to wash it, but here's a stock photo for now.
As soon as the weather clears I have a list of projects that need done including a timing belt. I will try to make a post of before during and after. This car is worth nothing monetarily, but it means the world to me. I will be getting an S4 (or trying to) when I'm done with school but I am going to keep the 90 running for as long as I can.The harder I work, the luckier I get

I looked into an RS5 before i was quoted i think $1200, i think if you can bargain you can get it lower.. Thing is, at least in new york, it is very hard to find RS5 for 70k, they are marked up like crazy here for some reason.
I was in the same position as you, i had 2012 fully loaded A5. I ended up going with an S4.. I was gonna originally go with the S5 but after driving the A5 i realized i missed the back seats. If i were you and you can get a good deal on RS5, id definitely go with that even over the M4 for the AWD and i just really love Audis. As they mark them up its really hard to pick anything else over M4.....obviously its in a diff class from S4/S5 but you'll be paying more.♦ ɴɣϲ ϲrew ♦

Just popped a second set of pads on my A6 and started getting humming out the wazoo from one side. Now my jeffries are starting to rumple.
This was by far the fastest brake job I've ever done and it looks like I'm going to have to dismantle everything again tomorrow. The above post is a 100% complete lie
