almost a month in on owning the car and its not so sickeing anymore, im kind of disappointed actually. taken the car in twice now, one on a recall and another on paint quality issues and im probably taking it in again next week because of a rattling noise at low rpm in first and second gear. Build quality seems pretty ****

Reliablity from VW has always been average, everybody knows that. But you have to separate reliability for driveablity. How does it drive, i.e. acceleration, braking, steering, cornering, noise etc.? How would you rate those things? Not even an obscure selfie? It looks kinda lonely.

I wasnt expecting it to be the most reliable car but its not even a month old. This is the first car ive ever bought so I dont really have much to compare it to. its by far the best handling car ive personally driven and accelerates pretty dang good. First manual car for me as well other than driving my friends car around so its been an experience for the first 3 weeks lol, my heart sinks every time I stop on a hill

I've had two VW (Jetta, Passat) and they both spent more time in the shop than I care to say. Even so, they were so enjoyable to drive I all but forgave the inconvenience.

Couldn't you just upgrade the CHRA to a BNR unit as well? Any idea what numbers those are putting up compared to the k04s? The k04 is hard to push past 350 in our DISI motors so I am assuming its nearly impossible without race fuel in the TSI.

Drove a premium B8 yesterday. Only things holding me from pulling the trigger is the non led headlights and the chittiest speakers I have ever heard in my life.

Bout to buy a 2003 jetta 1.8t from a buddy of mine that has about ~170k miles. I should have about 5k to blow on it later on as well.
With that being said I know **** all about foreign chit lol. Definitely looking to push ~300-400hp though. Would you guys recommend getting a new engine with a new turbo or do I have nothing to worry about with the engine having 170k miles (other than new rods, aiding performance parts, etc.)? Should i look into fixing the transmission up as well?

Well the lighting seems like a pet peeve (mine are amber signal lights), and one not so easily remedied. But the speaker/sound system is likely one of the most frequently upgraded parts of an automobile.
A simple pull out/drop in speaker upgrade can make a world of difference. Add a dedicated sub-woofer, and its the difference between night and day. The challenge is picking the right speakers. Since even personal sampling won't yield the exact sound you will hear once they're installed. Is that just something you were told or can you explain that? Strange? B&O is one of the premiere speaker manufactures around. At least that's true in the home. I guess not ever speaker configuration can transfer to the auto environment which is a much greater challenge.🎥

The USP VRT S4 made a 9 second pass at Afterfest Saturday night, never nailed the 9.0xx on Sunday and ended up losing to Tim Mullen in the outlaw finals.
I was there both days but it seems even in just the three years I've gone it's become less fun each year. It'd be cool to see a large drop in vendor booth costs next year. I know of a handful of companies that stopped going due to outrageous booth pricing. He that lives upon hope will die fasting. -Benjamin Franklin

Does anyone have an opinion towards the premium offering from VW? I hear the Phaeton is returning to U.S. shores for 2015.

Well the C5 Allroad had maaaaaaad camber wear. I went to the dealer to actually get a balancing done. Walked out with a loaner car and a bill for some new tires. Got Falken ZIEX ZE950's.
