--- Just a quick intro before we kick start this thread:
Name is Simoun Shamoon. I'm 27 years old and I started competing in the NPC at 21 years old. I recently competed as a welterweight at The 2013 NPC Team Universe where I placed 5th out of only 6 competitors. Regardless of the placing, I was happy to be there for the first time and competing at my all time best! After the Team U, I decided the best thing to do was to shut it down for the year and kickstart my offseason right away if I was to make the improvements I needed to make. I was told that I need more muscle/size - plain and simple! At 5'9'' and 163.2 lbs, I was the tallest competitor in the class and my frame is able to hold a lot more than where I was at for the Team U. I will be competing at The Team U again in 2014 and my goal is to come in as a middleweight!

Since the show, I'm back up to 182lbs (the heaviest I've ever weighed). My goal is to get to 200 and see where I can go from there until prep starts next year! I am very fortunate to be sponsored by Athletic Edge Nutrition. YES, i actually use the products lol! I tend to utilize the products a little different than the norm so I will definitely be explaining a little bit more in detail. I look forward to updating everyone with my diet, training, supplementation, pics and eventually some training footage.

We may be competing at Team U together! I still have to talk to the coach about it and the timing has to be right, but it's possible! That would be awesome!

Current Diet
-Off Season-
I am currently eating 5 meals with the following macro break down: 60g Protein/80g Carbs/30g Fat followed by a 6th meal that is not counted (cheat meal) i.e. burger and fries with some chocolate or a pint of Ben n Jerry's.
Protein Sources: whey protein, ground turkey, egg whites, whole eggs, lean ground beef
Carb Sources: cream of rice, Jasmine white rice, gluten free bread(made from brown rice), Nutella (it's the offseason) and Karbolyn
Fats: Extra Virgin Olive Oil (I use it in all my shakes), natural peanut butter and almond butter
As far as supplements go:
Pre Workout - 60 min prior to training, I have a serving of APE with 8 oz of water. 30 min prior to training, i have 25 grams of Karbolyn, 1.5 scoops of Presurge (grape bubble gum is my favorite) 1 scoop of Intrabolic (blue raz is my favorite)
Intra Workout - 75 grams of Karbolyn, 2 scoops Intrabolic, 1 scoop Creatine RT (grape bubble gum)
I use whey more as a food source than a supplement because it's one of the highest quality forms of protein there is! I also take a probiotic!
Keep in mind that this is what's been working for me. Obviously most don't have to eat 4500+ calories to put on muscle but this is what my coach and I have put together due to the metabolism I have. I can lose weight very easily and in the past, I disregarded eating enough because the truth is I hate to eat. I don't have the best appetite but I know what needs to be done. I made great progress after meeting my friend and coach this past year and it was due to the crazy increase in food! Training was always there but up until this past Novemeber, I was stuck in the 160's for a good two years and couldn't understand how i couldn't gain the weight. I thought I was eating a lot but I was clearly off with that assumption. Food is everything!!- Athletic Edge Nutrition athlete

Not much has changed as far as calories go (still at 60/80/30 for 5 meals with a 6th meal as a cheat) aside from bumping up my carbs intra workout to 75 grams (from Karbolyn). Still having a scoop of Intrabolic pre workout with my Presurge and 2 scoops intra workout but I will eventually bump this up to 3 scoops intra My focus is to get stronger this off season but I still want to maintain good, controlled form. The pumps I've been gettin in the gym have been unreal and I attribute it to the most food I've ever eaten along with supplement timing
I'm looking forward to the day where I get 50 posts and I can link photos and pics like a normal person haha- Athletic Edge Nutrition athlete

A little late on this but I trained legs tuesday night and I got two PR's on the squat. Now, I am not chasing numbers but I am definitely working on getting stronger. Here was the workout.
Squat Focus Day
1. Lying Hamstring Curls- 2 warmups followed by 12 reps, 12 reps, 12 reps, 12 reps (final set followed by 20 partials)
2. Squat- 2 warm ups followed by 210lbs - 8 reps, 260lbs - 8 reps, 310lbs - 8 reps, 335lbs - 8 reps, 385lbs - 4 reps, 225lbs - 15 reps
3. Leg Extensions - 10 reps, 10 reps, 10 reps, 10 reps
4. Adductor Machine - 10 reps, 10 reps
5. Abductor Machine - 10 reps, 10 reps
My training partners pushed me hard on this one. The 335 for 8 and 385 for 4 were personal records!
I WAS FRIED!
Drank 3 scoops of Intrabolic, 1 scoop of Creatine RT and 50 grams of Karbolyn during the workout! This shake is a must for me!- Athletic Edge Nutrition athlete
