Those house prices look about right, but realize that they are in the suburbs. If you want to live close to downtown in a nice neighborhood then $500k buys you much less land and sq ft.

You can get the same kinda thing in Missouri. You don't want to live here though. Hot as **** summers with high humidity. Cold as **** winters. You get about 2-4 weeks of nice weather a year.

I strongly disagree. I sweat walking to my car from my back door from the humidity on bad days. I also get seasonal allergies which come in fall and spring leaving me with stuffy nose/headaches/groggy-ness. Last couple years I ended up getting sinus infections. Not everyone has this issue though, I just happen to have bad allergies. I'm looking at moving out of state after experiencing what other cities feel like.
