could my weight loss have changed deadlift style preference?

So when I first started powerlifting I was at 295lbs and now I'm 258lbs. I've noticed that my squat isn't as strong.
I've also noticed that my deadlift preference changed. I'm having trouble with sumo. It feels like a grind just to get off the bottom. I tried the same weight with conventional and it feels way faster and more explosive.
Could my weight loss have caused this?

I dropped from about 240-220 and I'm a lot more powerful conventional now. I think I also prob lost some weight in my hands and just have a stronger grip but at the very least, feels better

Sumo is generally harder at the bottom of the pull. But yeah it is possible now that you've lost weight that you prefer the conventional style. I am sub 200lbs and I prefer sumo, to each his own I guess.

yes it could have. there will almost always be a preference for one form over the other based on leverages.
