Knee "popping" when i do squats
Does anyone else have this problem? My knee sort of pops/cracks when I am doing squats or lunges and I don't think this is really a good thing. It doesn't really hurt but it just doesn't sound good and I don't want to injure my knee at all. Does anyone know if it's ok for me to continue to do these exercises or should I get some special brace or stop or what? Any advice is appreciated!

my knee always seems to pop when i keep my toes pointed forward; try angling them
failing that, try wrapping your knee, see if that helps

crack pop fizz
I know lots of people who experience knee popping, and none of them have weak knees or knee problems. It's hard to say. Lots of my joints do that at random times. It's gross.
Make sure your inner quad head by your knee is not underdeveloped in proportion to your outer head - that is what causes most ACL/knee injuries.
Also make sure you go down all the way with squats and all other excersizes. Failing to squat down as far as you can will work the outer head more than the inner head.

thanks nobody That makes me feel better to know that I am not killing my knee when it pops. I think my quads are pretty developed in all areas. I run a lot and do a lot of leg exercises so hopefully it's all good in the leg department

Mine used to the first time i would squat, unless i streched it out properly
Not it doesn't although my knees never go past 90 degrees so that could be a reason

running
I've heard that running and jogging and such is pretty hard on the joints, especially the back, from all the impact. That's why I don't run. I swim instead.
It would probably be better to run on grass or dirt rather than pavement, if possible. Do you take glucosamine chondroitin with MSM? That's supposed to be good for joints.
