Sushi night! I took my 6 year-old son again after he enjoyed it so much last week. This time we got quite a bit of food though...no leftovers.
Scallop Sashimi and "Chips and Salsa". First time trying the "Chips and Salsa"...damn good. It's spicy tuna tartare mixed with cucumber, avocado & salsa (served with wonton chips).
Spicy Lobster Roll wrapped in soy paper
Pacific Roll - this one was excellent. Spicy albacore, cilantro, jalapeño & cucumber rolled & topped with avocado & mango salsa, finished with red beet tempura bits & sautéed cashew nuts
Chili Ponzu Yellowtail plate and a Crab Avocado Roll in Rice Paper

I've been wanting to try the IHOP cinnastack pancakes since you guys posted pics in here, but I never seem to get an opportunity to go there. So... I decided to make my own.
I added pecans. Skipped the cream cheese icing. It's sweet enough. Added a little whip cream to cut the sweetness.
I have no idea what the real thing tastes like, but these were freaking delicious.

02-08-2014, 08:47 PM #3493- Your mindset influences your outcome. It's time to take out phrases like "I can't" or "I don't have time" and replace them with phrases like "I will make the time" and "I will keep working at it until I find a way that works." Success starts with the right mindset and believing in yourself and your dreams.

Some awesome eats already on this page...
That your pic? Very minimalistic and artsy, I like it a lot
Its honestly amazing that you cook all that at 14...always seem to be on spread with you.
And that steak tho..
(btw ADEAD is awesome lol, so much better than stupid GOMAD)
I've been wanting to try them as well...hard being from CAD though. But those look awesome, they're so thick and fluffy. That a cinnamon syrup sauce?

Sea bass with risotto and spinach at the top looks amazing
Looks so good. I just about start drooling with almost every picture you post.
I'm mostly a sashimi/nigiri guy but I'm such a sucker for stuff wrapped in soy paper, especially soft shell crab, blue crab and lobster. Yellowtail is my kryptonite of sushi, plain sashimi is again my favorite (yellowtail belly hnnnnnnnnnnnng) but chili, jalapeno and ponzu are all home run additions as well. It's awesome that your son loves it, the concept and appearance of it horrified me when I was young, don't think I had sushi for the first time until I was 14. From age 22-26 I probably had sushi a minimum of 5 times a week.

I once had an unholy obsession with eel but these days it's all about yellowtail and salmon. It's a shame I didn't know this forum existed when I was a fatass, so many glorious sushi and fine dining pictures I could've and should've taken. I'll do my best to try and make up for it, at least now that I'm not fat I take pride in my ability to shove food into my mouth instead of being ashamed by it.
Here are a couple old phone pics, everything else with food in it is either a fruity cocktail or has a friend/family member in it that might not want me posting pictures of our gluttonous adventures.
Redfish cooked on the shell with heaps of garlic. Caught 2-3 hours prior to being eaten. I've had redfish many ways, this simple preparation blew pretty much everything else out of the water.
Tuna sashimi on some sort of crispy lotus thing at Nobu ages ago.

Thanks! I just used a box pancake mix, but made the cinnamon sauce or spread from scratch. Very easy and done in a a few minutes. (Sorry, I don't have measurements. I just gauged by the amount I needed.)
Butter
Brown sugar
Vanilla
Cinnamon
Splash of milk
A tsp of flour to thicken
Keep warm until pancakes are done and then spread as much as you like.
