Stocked up on some stuff during the long weekend...
Some sludges:
CS sludge with smores goldfish, brown sugar cinnamon special k, and maple syrup
Chocolate sludge with walnuts, almonds, and dark chocolate banana pb
^not the best presentation, but macros were pretty awesome
Double chocolate chip CnC banana bread muffins
Some pumpkin goodies...will do reviews for each on the pumpkin thread later today
Tested the Pumpkin Pie Jam with some ridiculously priced Dark Chocolate Banana Monkey Butter and homemade Chocolate Oreo PB
Chocolate Oreo PB - 8/10
My second attempt at PB. First attempt worked, but didn't taste that great. I used pre roasted/salted peanuts, and added cocoa/crushed oreo's. The cocoa combined with oreos gives it a mild chocolate taste...could have used more cocoa though. The oreo pieces give it a nice texture and add a little 'crunch' to it.
Pumpkin Pie Jam - 9.5/10
Its literally what you would expect. A very strong pumpkin flavor, great texture, and 25 cal per tbsp. 'Pumpkin' is the first thing on the ingredient list (of only 4), which is rare for most seasonal pumpkin products. Im going to buy another can of pure pumpkin and make some more pies/cheesecakes so I can make good use of this as a topping.
Dark Chocolate Banana Monkey Butter - 8.5/10
At first it was extremely liquidy, but after a night in the fridge it got the normal pb texture. Its pretty much banana flavored peanut butter; can't really taste the chocolate. The banana has more of a 'chew' texture compared to the oreo 'crunch'. Pro's are that it tastes amazing and smells even better than it tastes, and its got good macros compared to most flavored PB. Con's are that its not widely available, and its crazy expensive.
I can't really compare it to PB&Co; if you like banana, you'll prefer this for sure, and its hard to describe but it has the 'made in small batches, natural ingredients' texture to it that PB&Co is missing.
I'll have to try more flavors before I can really decide how much I like it, but until then I would rank it different, but equally to PB&Co (except for price).Last edited by cls91; 10-15-2013 at 12:30 PM.

HAHA you guys, Thanks! barbrox I live in SoCal but for the right price I might consider a road trip.
Bob check this recipe out - http://www.spoonforkbacon.com/2011/1...ared-scallops/
Mine was pretty similar to this but you can get away with out putting much of the fat in cuz risotto is so creamy on it's own.Follow me on Instagram for fun food adventures! - @callmemikeg

I updated the post with them.
I knew you would want to know about the Monkey Butter ...I only heard of it when you mentioned it on the sludge thread.
edit: just had some more of my chocolate oreo pb and have to bump it up to a 8.5/10... and for literally 1/4 the price of monkey butter, its the easy choice for someone who eats a lot of pb. If a jar lasts you 1month+, monkey butter may be worth the price.
it was also my 2nd attempt, I expect any future attempts to only get better and have better flavor combinations as wellLast edited by cls91; 10-15-2013 at 01:09 PM.

Thank you! Very interesting. As soon as I read the words oreo peanut butter I was like so much win. I want. Might be difficult and piss of the landlords but I may have to destroy the kitchen for the day in a quest to make oreo peanut butter. Pumpkin jam looks amazing. Its a shame the monkey butter is so good at such a high price. I'm curious and based on your review want to try some but with the cost, waiting for it to ship and all that I may just pass.
Oh, and I'm super jealous you can find the other PBCo flavors local to you."The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it." Michelangelo

The oreo pb is growing on me the more I have it. The key was to hand mix the grinded oreos after the pb was done.
I didn't realize, but if I were to buy 2+ jars of monkey butter it would be worth it for me to pay shipping (the retailer charged a markup from the $10 website price)...like I said, its pretty good but I need to try more to decide if it compares with the more economical options.
The pumpkin jam is pretty amazing, I'm going to try and get my hands on a bunch before theyre out of stock, but don't if I'll be able too
And the only PB&Co I cant find are the old fashioned smooth/crunchy (not crunch time). The macros and ingredients are slightly better, and I'm curious how the taste compares.
