some recent eats - awaring you guys real quick on what "Dim Sum" is:
Dim Sum is basically Chinese food a la carte via a real cart lol
if you go to one of those big Chinese sit down restaurants (not your Americanized one that serves you beef/chicken and broccoli), there are chinese ladies that walk around pushing carts of all different sorts of food – from steamed shrimp balls to fried calamari and even chicken feet!
most of the "dishes" are categorized as S, M, L, XL, and SP which means Special (these are the dishes that you order from the kitchen) and they're priced usually around $2 and goes up in increments of $.50, except the SPs usually are $10 and up.
So with that said, here are some of the eats! I dont know what they're called in english, i only know what's inside of them lol
this is the steamed shrimp ball i was referring to - it's encased in some rice flour thing
the yellow wrapping is something like a wonton wrapper and the filling is usually shrimp and ground pork
the thing behind the teapot is diced pork spare ribs
the wrapping on this is rice flour based? the filling is usually chinese ground beef (it's not your supermarket type ground beef fyi) or shrimp - i used to prefer shrimp but as i got older, i think i like the beef more
braised peppered beef short ribs - love love this. in the background, you can see the chicken feet - completely forgot to take a pic of that since we were all hungry lol
Made this at home this past week - it's an 11lb oven roasted Pork Loin (the thing that come in a cryovac at your supermarket)
the below was the first picture i took... but i didnt want to post it because after it was taken, there was a realization - it's nothing explicitly dirty fyi but... anyway click for the image if you want to see lol

Made some overnight oats with peanut butter in it. Then decided to made a banana split looking thing out of it and add more PB and chocolate cocoa + almond milk on top. In the back is white chocolate protein and coffee.

My parents spent a year and a half in china, when they came home they took us out to this restaurant in Houston where they did up authentic cuisine- those steamed balls are amazing.
Also can't figure out the diff between the two pics (aside from the obvious lack of half the roast in one).Total: 1578 | 633/378/633- meet bests | 645/385/660- gym bests

i'm blessed with parents that want to go out to Dim Sum every time they have off from work, which is pretty much any holiday that being a Civil Servant (Federal workers) has off lol
and a hint regarding that pic... if you were to rotate it counter clockwise 90 degrees, thats what i was referring to lol100% ä¸åœ‹äºº

It is a great base. Our gym here is nice and the one on the army side is amazing. I feel like it is more of an older crowd because a lot of people want to retire at a base like this from what I hear. I haven't really been out in the surrounding area yet but if you like outdoors stuff then this is the place to be.
