His skin, his weird delts, top heavy from the front and back. We're not talking Branch here but if we're comparing appealing and balanced physiques between him and Kuclo, Kuclo has it.

Actually, that's what I liked about this showing, he wasn't top heavy compared to the Olympia, I don't see anything wrong with his delts, perhaps you could point out in detail what you don't like, if you don't mind, I'm interested in knowing.

It seems his posing isn't as aggressive as it was before.

Don't see how Essa lost this contest. I wasn't at the show -- followed it online. I don't buy the you have to "be there" viewpoint. If you're sitting in the front row, back row, on the roof, in the car park, reclining in a Turkish brothel Essa won.

Lee Thomson is also very close friends and business partners with Phil Heath, he's also an Olympia Judge. What other sport would tolerate that?

My friends, bodybuilding is not a real sport. It's like pro wresting, just a money making machine for the promoters.

Know this... the winner of the 2013 Mr. Olympia will not necessarily be the man with the best physique, it will be (MVP) the guy who can make the promoters the most money. The only problem with the plan, is it's starting to backfire. Kai has suddenly become more popular than Phil.

Ridiculous exaggeration again. If you're talking about the graininess, Essa has that in the offseason. Essa had slightly deeper cuts in his glutes and his back was dryer.

Also make sure to divide and pander to both sides. Now the aesthetics crowd will be happy because Kuclo won, but the mass/conditioning/muscle crowd won't. Then when someone like Branch wins the opposite thing will happen.

I glimpse at Steve, then my eyes go right back to Essa every time I look at any comparison pics. I'm a big Kuclo fan but I don't think his symmetry & proportions were better, either.

Kuclo was the biggest dude with the smallest chest on stage. He had Essa on overall size and that's about it, imo.

I mean come on guys, BB is 33% physique 33% Politics 33% Profit. Its obvious, same thing w/ El Nasser, did he win the O? No. Did he deserve it? Yes. Its all about politics and money. I won't be surprised at all if Jay wins this years O and Brach places 6th. Not appealing? Really? I bet if he looked like Ryan Gosling he would be accused for being too cute for the stage...They just have certain people they need to qualify for the O and will do whatever it takes to accomplish their goal.

EDIT: Kuclos physique is quite impressive but
1) His tan was off
2) Essa was more shredded than Kuclo (dont even tryo to argue w. this one)

Essa has such weird skin....he has stretch marks everywhere and it creates an odd texture. Very leathery and unappealing somehow.

I guess what's so frustrating is that you never know what the hell they are rewarding as far as the judging. Is it symmetry, flow, and aesthetics? Or is it conditioning, separation, size? Combination of any number of these?
It varies from show to show and is 100% subjective it seems.

IFBB should have scorecards that have each category listed and a value should be given for each, then total the numbers to find the winner.
At least that way fans can see these numbers and actually get an idea of what the judges saw.
The way it is now there is no way to know, which is why all these accusations of fixed results/politics pop up over and over again.

THIS, got back from a day of repairs and expected to see pics of Essa holding the trophy. Looks like each contest has a different set of judging criteria, if Wolf had entered this show he would have won with a perfect score.
