I'm getting close to buying a GHD to "finish" my gym, and I have to local choices (that I have found so far).
Which one of these 2 would you buy (taking into account quality and price)? Or do you think they both suck?

I would include GetRX'd GHD to your list. $450 and shipping was like $120.
I have one and very happy with it. Big, solid and easily adjustable unit.

I know as much about GHD's as I do about rocket science, but the Quest one looks nice as its welded.
Anyway, if Quest is local to you.. and you happen to stop by could you have a look and grab some pics of their powerlifting bar? I've heard nothing but great things but have never seen one. Rumour has it the knurl is sharper than a TPB. Came close to ordering a few times but never have.

Shoua did a comparison review of Quest and Texas power bars on his blog with large pictures. He is a member here.

They're actually not far from where I work, and I've even turned around in their parking lot, but I've never been inside. It's a good distance off the main road, and you could drive right past it without seeing it. We're slowing down at work, so maybe I'll swing by there this week if I can get off a little early.

FWIW, I have been pretty happy with my CFF Econo model GHD. It frequently goes on sale for $300. I was able to pick up, so I don't know what the shipping would cost. I have never been on any other GHD, but I specifically wanted a model with half-moon pads rather than roller pads because the half-moons looked like they would be friendlier to doing ab work on it as well. I think there are other guys who prefer the roller pads, so you may want to do some research on that before you commit.

When you'll be putting guide rods through the footplate column, don't freak out if its underneath looks like in the picture. Guide rods will go through. Considering how each one of them welded at the same angle on mine, I tend to think its by design. Who knows. The column on mine moves smoothly and effortlessly. Just heads-up for you.

Looks like on your GHD the vinyl cover on the foot pads are of better design and quality than on mine.
