    Snatch Critque please!

Been o-lifting for maybe 2 months now?

Somethings I can see from the videos:

My transition going around the knees is a bit rough
I am on my heels a lot (don't know if good thing or bad thing) and as a result, my forefoot comes off the ground

please critique as I am having difficulty with my snatch technique.

    Thanks!

Well, the knees are supposed to go backwards to get out of the way of the bar. So, one thing you could practice is the first pull to the knees focusing on driving with the legs off the floor. If you do this correctly, think of using the legs/quads to push the floor away from you, then your knees will automatically go where they're suppose to.

Weight on your heels is what you want. Hip drive looks good as does speed under the bar. Work on pull speed off the floor

Stay over the bar a bit longer. Your shoulders are behind the bar by the time it is at knee level, you're losing lots of hip leverage due to that. Good thinking about taking things slow... the most important aspect of lifting is hitting the correct positions. You still gotta work on that. The next is tempo... the bar should be moving faster and faster as you pull - once it's at mid thigh it should be accelerating into your hips and into that explosive finish. Finally, speed everything up, but keeping the same tempo. Your still working on positions so don't worry about tempo or speed yet. Once you've nailed those steps and can control a weight and put plenty of speed on the bar, start adding more weight and just focus on putting everything you got into that finish.
