I was doing deadlifts besides the power rack.
He approached me and asked if I would mind if he set his rings up on the pullup bars of the power rack.
I said I didn't mind.
Noticed crossfit shirt & crossfit shoes.
My body is ready.
I had 315 on the bar still doing warm ups and he asks if he can work in.
Struggles to put it up 7 times.
I begin to add another plate to the bar and he helps me.
He begins to do more weird ring exercises.
Asks if he can try 405, it will be a new 1RM.
Uses some olympic grip that crushes your thumb, but successfully lifts it.
I try not to look cocky when I lift it 7 times.
Overall he was very nice and polite.
Thanks me for allowing him to work in with me.
Doesn't mention crossfit once.
I am starting to re-evaluate crossfit-ers

Crossfitters are like any other group. A few bad apples gives the whole thing a bad name.
Crossfit is legit (srs). I understand this is a bodybuilding site, but this is also the misc."If in my say 80 years on earth I do more help than damage, then I feel complete."

The Crossfit phase is all about people not wanting to struggle with heavy weight but more reps and endurance and poor form... its like a way out from the douchebags who go in there and lift bicep curls in the squat rack and wearing long pants cause they don't squat or Its an escape from lifting heavy day after day, struggle after struggle and bulkig... Crossfit is for a clean, green, Joining gym to have PT Sessions on sunday instead of church kind of person.
People who crossfit want to join a group.. feel they need to be in a group.. to enjoy working out.. kinda like a baby sitters club.

as much as ive hated on crossfit. The more they outsource their strength and olympic lifting by using elite coaches from each respective sport, the more crossfit doesn't seem so bad. A lot of them now-a-days don't even do what crossfit seemed to be a few years ago, literally just random exercises with names slapped on. Lot of them actually run smart programming for strength and oly lifting and then just add on the conditioning part. Theres some big name strength guys who run/work at crossfit gyms now so... theres some good ones out there I guess.
i'd still never join or want to do crossfit ever though.Recovering fatass

Not a few. I would say 60%. Every once in a while, I'll meet a genuinely nice crossfitter, but most are ready to measure d*cks the instant you pay them any attention at all.
And I'm not referring to the average weight loss person who finds crossfit as a means to lose that 40+lbs. I mean the ones who actually care about their Fran time.

did a crossfit circuit routine last night with a buddy who's into it. did squat sets then a power clean/box jump circuit couple times followed up by some deficit deads/pullups/abs/high intensity on the bike for a few mins. did that a few times total. chit was hard.
i think the people who say CROSSFIT OVER EVERYTHING and have no idea how to program appropriately or do lifts correctly are the ones who give it a bad name. also their theory about 80% accurate on form is total bs. in my experience though this has been the majority of crossfitters i've met.
but, wendler put together a great way to program crossfit with strength in his 2nd edition 5/3/1 book

Is a crossfit douche any worse than the bodybuilding douche who grabs the biggest DBs, does 2 half reps and them slams them on the floor? Then goes around bragging and telling everyone else how to lift? Doesn't mention it's just the clen eating and hard trening he did. Same thing.
