    Question What I Have..What Next?

    Hello
    My name is Jacob

I currently have been trying to do a more intense workout regiment of atleast 4 hours a day

    2 hours cardio
    2 hours weight lifting

    My question is

    I have a set of 25lb dumbells and a 60lb curl bar

What weight equipment should I add next?

I want to get a bench but I wanna make sure I got the basics I need now first

    Feedback is appriciated

Power rack, bench, 300 lb olympic weight set, and a copy of Rippetoe's "Starting Strength".

    A 60 lb curl bar?

Next probably the weight set and Starting Strength. Without a rack you can still do heavy front and zercher squats. And overhead press. And floor press. Reading the books is important, you'll be in snap city with 300 lbs and getting techniques wrong.

That's a lot of volume. I can't help but think that there's a more effective program which is also more time efficient.

What you get next depends upon the space available and your budget. If you have both the space and financial budget for it, get a power rack, bench, bar, and plates.

If you can't afford that yet, get a bench and a pair of adjustable dumbbells which go up to at least 100lbs per bell.

Thanks for all of the feedback

I'm definately going to get a bench next

Squats is hard to do with my currl bar. I actually like doing squats with my 25lb dumbells. Feels pretty effective.

I want to start tricking the muscles and get some 50lb dumbells. Anybody ever have any success with tricking the muscles on bicep curls???

I think you'll be better off either getting an entire set of dumbbells or some adjustable ones so that you have more choices than just 25lbs and 50lbs. That's quite a big leap for some movements. You'll probably be able to handle that kind of a jump for squats, but there will be many others where that's simply too much.

I also don't think a bench is the next thing to get. You don't have any weights!

First thing I would get is some weights, dumbbells are fine but are going to be costly. Personally, I'd get the 300lb set and do what you can with it for 6 months if you can't afford anything else.
Second thing I would get is a power rack. That should take you for as long as you need to go. In fact, you never really need a bench unless you're planning on competing in something.
Third thing I would get is a nice barbell.
Fourth thing I would get is more weights.
Fifth thing I would get is a bench.
Sixth thing I would get is a complement of dumbbells.

I got a babymomma and I get cardio @ night when I WANT.

I'm a professional mover as occupation so I get lifting and cardio plus what I do when I get home (usually strength training and basketball)

I do like the advice on a complete weight set but they're pricey.
Still not sure what to get next. A bench sounds good but like most of you have said. I need to get more weights.

First thing you need is a good book on how to work out.

I have no idea what 2 hours lifting and 2 hours cardio will accomplish, but my guess would be, not much.
