The LHC doesn't use Windows, it uses this: https://www.scientificlinux.org/
Here's a pic from the Google I/O:
Furthermore, are you doing any work on the LHC? Or do you think just because a certain tool is good for something way beyond your scope, and you happen to use the same tool for watching porn, you are automatically an enlightened, technology expert?

I hate Apple products because they stole the name of my favorite fruit (srs)

i currently have a 15" MBP and some dell computer that both cost around 1800 bucks, have i7s, SSDs, 8gb RAM, etc and they have both run very well since ive had them
work recently just said i could get any new laptop i want, price was a non-factor, and i did a bunch of research and ultimately decided on a fully maxed out 11inch macbook air that cost about 2grand. It runs windows 7 via bootcamp, and let me tell you this thing is the GOAT computer. i run win7 at work during the day, then do a quick restart before i leave and 10 seconds later im in OSX which i run for my personal stuff at home

OP is a brainwashed sheep.
"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

I say this in every thread that has to do with Apple versus android or Microsoft. Most apple products especially the iPhone are more user-friendly. Every time you shut down in Apple product did defrag's and organizes. There is little maintenance because of that. Apple knew that if it didn't allow users easy access into the system that it would be less likely to have issues, And so far this has proven true.
That said don't expect Mac and Apple products to stay virus free for long. With the dramatic increase in the amount of Apple products out there viruses are now starting to be written for Macs. In the next 5 to 10 years Mac users will be dealing with just as many viruses as Microsoft users.
I personally think that both have their place. My gaming rig is a Windows based system because I like being able to easily customize it and everything is very compatible with games. For my handheld devices I prefer Apple products because of how user-friendly they are in tasks take much less timeOne party system; Most Republicans are Democrats, but no Democrats are Republicans.
Hayek and Mises were right; they're all socialists.

You're paying for the brand name/build quality.
No you aren't getting the best hardware or best price but you can be assured yu're standing by the build quality
That said I'd rather get a computer that is far superior hardware wise and be able to tinker and customize it how I want then convince myself that I'm too retarded and would rather get something that I can't possibly fck up.
