Hi,
I hear coffee/caffeine is unhealthy and I hear it is okay for reaching my fitness goals. Also, what is the best food to eat prior to exercising to ensure I can sustain my workout? Please advise.....

If coffee is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

I recently saw a TV programme that mentioned research at Loughborough University (here in the UK): they found that caffeine before training improves athletes' performance. The capsules they typically use are equivalent to 2 strong cups of coffee.
On a side note, I wish I could drink coffee, but it gives me gastritis so it's just the occasional cup for me!

Caffeine is only unhealthy if you abuse it. Now to reach your fitness goals a cup of joe in the morning and a preworkout before the gym isn't going to kill you.
Pre-workout Meal
1 serving protein
and
1serving almonds
Post workout meal
2 scoop protein powder and a banana to spike your insulin levels which is what you need after a workout also a BCAA is a good idea too.
I recommend you check out Inner Armour for your BCAA and Whey Isolate

Yes to coffee! I also drink it with stevia. Bananas have the highest sugar content when they are fully ripened. If you can eat them when they are somewhat green still, you can reduce your sugar intake a little more. I eat my fruits directly before or after my workout when the carbs will be fully utilized. No more than 2 servings a day.
