    Bulking and abs

I'm currently trying to bulk to 180. I've been working out and eating like crazy, I'm going on 3 months now. I've went from about 150 to 164lbs, reached 170 but lost some due to last weekend from playing baseball so I'm back to 164lbs. I'm not too worried about my abs because I know it will take time for them to show up how I want them too but I was wondering....

Will cardio help me lose the fat around my stomach and give me that chiseled look? I have a bit of a gut and I can see my abs a little but want to get that chiseled washboard abs look.

    Thanks

Unless you're a mega beginner you ain't gonna build muscle and lose fat at the same time mate.

^^ This. You won't typically build muscle and lose fat at the same time. So if you are bulking, you can do all the cardio you want but at the end of the day a caloric surplus will just mean you have put on weight and couldn't have lost fat.

Also, there is no way to spot reduce, so even if you do cardio or eat a deficit you won't lose that fat from a single area.. Sorry brah..

If you're bulking, don't expect to have 'better' looking abs, in pretty much ever bulk they vanish...

depends on how thick that layer of abdominal fat is, if its not alot you might be ok doing ab work as they push out otherwise a small deficit is the only answer

Wtf. So if you know this, then why did you start a thread asking how to get rid of the fat around your abs?

    Negged.
Started in April, 2013 at 212 lbs. Completely inactive at the time. Fat with zero muscle mass.

If you are currently in a caloric surplus, and you stay in a consistent caloric surplus, no matter how much cardio you do you will not be seeing any less fat on your stomach period. Stomach fat go bye bye only when a caloric deficit is maintained
