    Maintaining a six pack while bulking?

    I'm working on getting a six pack but I don't want to lose it when I begin bulking. Is it possible to bulk and still stay extremely cut?

    obviously you cant bulk and be extremely cut, thats impossible


    however if u bulk clean and gradually increase ur calories then u maintain a degree of definition


    but its unlikely u'll keep ur 6pac, just unrealistic

    I'd say it'd be close to impossible to keep your 6-pack the way it is before bulking. Just bulk up and then get the 6-pack back when you cut.

    If you clean bulk you can do it probaly. Depending on your genetics/metabolism. It probaly won't be 'extremely cut' but I think you can still mantain decent abdominal defenition.

    How bout cardio during bulking? Has anyone tried it (like pilates) or jogging while bulking? Do you put on lean muscle mass and *some* fat inspite of cardio? Feedback guys!!

    it depends on your body type. im an ectomorph. im 5'8" - 5'9", about 151 lbs with ~10-12% bf. my abs have definitely been more defined at other times, but im bulking right now (cleanly), and you can still see them when i flex, but not really when i dont. theyre not popping out or anything right now, but you can still see that theyre there. so far ive put on ~13 lbs or so in the last 10 weeks.

    Anybody eating POTATOes while bulking? How about boiled/microwaved potatoes? Very easy to make & gobble down. Well I know it has carbs & starch, prpobably no protein. But don't you think it adds to mass? I only hope it won't make the 6 pack vanish!! Thanks guys...

    Has anyone tried leg lifts or pilates while bulking? I wonder if it's going to hinder overall mass gain, while I'm pretty sure it will maintain the 6 pack right?

    no. use the fact that muscle growth is better during bulking to increase the size of your abs. when bulking is over and its cutting time, your abs will be even better.

    In general what you want to do is pretty contradictory however if the fat do to the local makeup is harder for you to burn off then elsewhere then try useing Absolved at low does during the bulk as this will minimized fat gains to that area.

    Now I if you eat in excess those calories still have to go somewhere so while it may help prevent a guy you will end up with the fat going somewhere else, chances are that place will mostly be the last place you finally lost fat at (ignoring the abs) but would likely be different for each person.

    When you are ready to cut again you would have more or less the same about of fat you had before but less of it should be in the hard to loose gut and more in places that drop off easier.

    i eat lots of whole potatoes, rice, pasta to get my carbs intake in. it got some protiens too. iam bulking right now, i agained about 9 pounds and my abs still visible, not as good as before i started bulkin though

    what the obsession with abs? when ur cut show them off. when ur bulking try and focus ppls attention on your arms, chest, back and shoulders more. if at any point u think ur too fat vut straight away.
    in my opinion i wud rather have a ****eload of muscle than have a scrawny body (Not saying ur scrawny of course) since the summer i have seen loads of ppl with 6 packs but little muscle and even my gf (who likes 6 packs) sed they look too scrawny and prefers my body type (larger muscles and slightly visible abs)
    ultimately i wud like the abs too but i wana get strong and hella powerful.

    ive never seen my abs, but ive never been fat either. Now that ive bulked almost 30lbs im going to cut, so im looking forward to seeing my abs for real. I can only feel them when tensed, so i know they wont show up un-tensed, however low bf% i get.

    Like some others said just do a clean bulking phase, so many people seem to think that bulking means eating everything you see and getting all fat, anyone can do that, what you want to do is add quality mass. Obviously your abs aren't going to be all ripped while bulking but if you do it right you should still see at least a faint outline, your not going to look all out of shape or anything. Im so lucky I have bad acne all over my back/chest (never thought id be saying that) b/c since I can never take off my shirt I could care less about having extremely ripped abs.

    I put on 30 lbs went from 125-155 and if i flex i can still see a 6 pac. BUt this 30lbs was over 7 months so i guess just bulk clean.

    woah ur gf has a 6 pack. i wud h8 it if my gf had a beta stomach than me. mine looks ok sumtimes but at other times i jus look fat very annoying but i am concentrating on getting muscle mass ( i was a skinny kid)

    yeh i used to be hella skinny it was embarrasing. now im the biggest out of my m8s except for height but i cant control that can i? 175 5 foot 8 and a half aint bad. me gf has got a great body but she has slightly more fat than me. im cool with it but she does wana loose weight (Which gurl doesn't eh?)
