I don't have a six-pack, not even close because I'm bulking but in the middle of my side there are two gill-like muscle formations on each side that run a few inches to where my pack would be if I had one. What are these things?
I used to swim and do tae-kwon-do as a youngster so idk if that caused some abnormal core/side core action.
Are they my obliques?

Sorry to say this OP, new scientific evidence suggests that your prolonged exposure to water as a swimmer led to a biological evolution resulting in your new pre-functional gills. Hopefully if you spread your genes, a few generations down you'll have produced the first monkeyfishfrog.
In all srsness its either your obliques or serratus.Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
