Private Selection Cholate Chip Cookie Dough - B+

I think this is the first time I've had Private Selection's vanilla base; it's very good and creamy. The chocolate chips added a nice bit of texture to the base. A bit more of the cookie dough chunks would have made this an A for me.

Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia Greek FroYo B I think I might prefer this to the regular froyo. It seems a lot more dense and closer to the texture of ice cream. There was no discernible "greek" after taste either.

Where are you both located? Besides Charvel, which it clearly looks like you are from South Cali. I'm all the way up here next to he boarder (canada), and we still get Tillamook. Just curious how far on the coast this brand travels.

^My Ralphs here in Hollywood juuuust stocked Tillamook ice cream. Any flavor in particular worth trying? The flavor descriptions seem pretty basic, so I haven't tried them yet.

Anyway, first time trying Target's brand ice-cream. I had tried their gelato last year and didn't like it at all. Very odd light/rubbery texture and weak flavor. This ice cream was pretty disappointing as well. The 'chocolaty' coating on the pretzels was super waxy with little flavor, and the pretzels themselves were stale. No real distinguishable swirls, so it was missing the flavor there as well. The base was pretty light/milky. This is one of the few times that I've thrown out ice cream, not even worth eating. Sad! I kept digging through the container hoping it would get better, but it was crappy all throughout. Maybe other flavors are better?

I'm in northern NV and the grocery stores here have a ton of Tillamook. Never tried it, would love a review of some of the flavors!

What's the idea behind this thread? Isn't it better to bulk on slow-digesting carbs? And a lot of you are big and lean in your pics anyway. Just wondering.

As far as I can tell, a lot of the posters in here run 5+ miles a day, plus lifting. That creates a big caloric deficit to fill. Add in a little IIFYM and a taste for the finer things, and here we are.

I'm interested and it's good to know Tillamook is good ice cream. I bought two today.

I bought mine from Ralph's today too. AKA Kroger for anyone outside of Cali. I thought it was strange seeing them selling ice cream (is it?). You get a quarter of a quart more than the Private Selection label, plus it's a whole buck cheaper. I don't know if it's good though. I bought the vanilla bean base and something else I eenie miney moed.

That too! I don't think we disagree.

And post a review after you've tried the Tillamook? Super curious but a container that size is a commitment!

LA area. i can find it in most grocery stores.

re: archer farms, i picked two new flavors (a donut flavor and "cinema snack") both were pretty big dissapointments. a C-, i'd say. but, i really enjoyed the birthday cake flavor.

Tillamook Oregon Hazelnut & Salted Caramel:

Chopped hazelnuts and caramel swirl poking through . . .

    Close-up in the bowl . . .

The hazelnut base was very creamy and unique. Very enjoyable. Finely chopped hazelnut pieces permeated each bite and added a nice little crunch. The salted caramel swirl was good, but not very abundant (could have just been the section I scooped though). Overall, I was satisfied with the pickup and will explore other Tillamook offerings in the future.

BTW - I had the White Chocolate Raspberry Yum before and I remember that one being great.
