Just curious to know how others get amped for the gym besides pre workout. Listen to music? Drink plenty water? What do you eat? Watch some vids??
Let us know as I highly depend on being in the right frame of mind before my workout.
Go.

What do you do before the gym to get the most out of your workout?

Ill start off.
Personally ill make sure I've had a litre or two of water before my workout, it's definitely had a good effect on me drinking plenty of water before the gym, have my pre workout meal then just put the dock on blast some music whilst drinking my preworkout, sometimes have an a bit of fruit a long with my pre workout. But yeah mainly music puts me in the mood, always think about what I'm going to do in the gym to get me more pumped"Only he who can see the invisible can do the impossible."

Dude tell me about it. One of the guys I (no longer) lift with at school was the kind of guy that agrees on a time to lift like 5 hours beforehand, then when you text him 30 minutes beforehand to let him know youre on your way and he says "yeah man...I'm not gonna go today..." and then you're screwed over. Then when you get mad he has the audacity to tell you that because you do it first thing after class that youre "too obssesive." Anyway, I digress.
Before my workout I usually stretch and foam roll for 20-30 minutes. I usually take my pre workout during that period so that when I get close to finished I'm ready to go. Ill stretch and jam out to some Magna Carta Holy Grail or some pump up music or something. For me there's something meditative about stretching, even while blarring rap music. I just kind of close my eyes and focus, which I've found is a great way to get the muscle-mind connection right before you lift. You get the chance to kind ofdo a diagnostic on your muscles whle simeultaneously ramping up for that first set.

I normally stretch then go in the gym. At first everything is fine an all then it becomes too intense then I gotta take it up a level so I power up then go Super Sayian. If its still too hard I take it to the next level which is ascended sayian. If all else fails I use the forbidden super sayian 3 which speeds up my life expectancy but gives me unmearable strength.

Google foam rollers because it wont let me post an image.
When you foam roll, you essentially use one of those as a rolling pin to roll out knots and tension in your muscles. Depending on what muscle or muscle group you foam roll it can be extremely painful until you get to tightness out. NOTHING is more painful then rolling out tight IT bands in your legs. It is miserable but worth it.

First I wake up and take a assessment of how well I slept if I am really tired I go later in the day
Then I take all my sups.
If my motivation sucks. I watch body building motivation videos on YouTube
Sounds stupid but I have my favorite work out Clothes and if there not clean and I forgot to wash them. I don't feel as good at the gym
I also have to get my shoes tied just the right tightness.Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder.

Foam roll my back crew.
My pump up:
Talk to girl that friendzoned me. srs."There is no question that belts assist in generating a few more Newton-meters (or foot-pounds) of torque in the torso through elastic recoil of a bent orso that is stiffened with a belt. However, if a neutral spine is preserved throughout the lift this effect is minimal. In other words, to obtain the maximal effect from a belt, the lifter must lift poorly and in a way that exposed the back to a much higher risk of injury!”

I look at myself in the mirror, naked. I grab onto my sack with both hands and loudly chant, "Strength, Vitality, Resolve, Confidence, Purpose". I do this like an Alpha Male with zero chits given until I get my point across... Then I eat my egg white & spinach breakfast with coffee mixed with protein and BCAA Powder.
I proceed to quest to the gym. Music if I walk, Tunes if I drive. No music once I'm in the gym. When I get to the gym I do as Bella Falconi does.
I come, I F--k Chit up, I leave.
simple as that.

Ahh I get you, seen a few brahs doing it in the gym.
I agree with you so much with the clothing bit, i have to look good and clean in the gym, if I look messy and my clothes don't look aesthetic then I literally don't have as a good workout, gey as phuck but oh we'll, personal preference"Only he who can see the invisible can do the impossible."

I pose and flex in the mirror, I look at how big I am and imagine how big I want to be, and use that as my motivation. Then drive to the gym with some music going while contemplating the gym. I think right gonna do this first, that after then that etc.
when I'm in the gym all I think about while I am lifting is my form, breathing and the feeling of my muscles. I don't think about the weight or what music is playing (couldn't tell you what songs were playing on any day!!)

Wake up from my nap, take a shower, go to the kitchen, grab my oatmeal and PB sandwich. Gets 1 cup of oatmeal, and 2 sandwiches. I wait few minutes then take my pre workout, make sure I grab everything before heading to the gym. ( hate forgetting my gloves ) then go to the garage, get in the car, put ons Jay Z's new album Magna Carta, heads to the gym, go in the locker room, flex for a bit then stretch then boom, lift. Cool story I know

1) Eat and drink lots of water till i end up having to pee like twice xD
2) I listen to some music and think about my routine and what to do and how long i will have to wait till the ****en squat and bench press are free so i can start
3) think about how much i hate seated curls and about my arm pain (part between rest and elbow)
4) Do some push ups and get pumped
5) Imagine myself in perfect form and wish abs and looking impressive in the beach and doing some badass MMA ****"Strong people help you up not put you down"
**Wking girls with pretty green eyes cuz they just 2% crew**
**Hairy as Fack but not on my back crew**
They told me it's a tough journey, they told me it's like hell and back, they doubted me, underestimated me, told me i will never make it, they tried to stop me to block my way but i told them hell! i am already on my way so just sit there and watch me or better yet, try to stop me. If you can!

So for everybody ITT that's using pre-workouts.. Which pre-workouts do u use and how often do you use em / cycle off?
And ppl that drink coffee.. Do you cycle off coffee? That just sounds weird to me
Here's my everyday routine:
1)wake up at 5 am
2) leave house by 5:30 am
3) warm up car for 2-3 minutes and prepare my pre-workout.
4) drink pre-workout after driving for a minute on the way to gym.
5) get to gym and take my pre-workout dumps
6) warm up and begin to lift
7) step outta the gym feelin like a boss.. Cold summer breeze with warm sunlight hitting your body. Feels good man.
8) drive my happy *** to class
