Eh, the price of art isn't determined by it's quality. In this case it's determined by the fact that the artist is 10 years old.
I love the fact that he is painting from life not from pictures like lots of *******s are doing. Much harder to paint from life and there's nothing artistic about copying pictures.

It's astounding that he has so much skill in perspective, lighting, etc. let alone at an age when most people can hardly draw anything in 3 dimensions. Certainly a savant, no person with such an innate talent can possibly be socially proficient. Great artists see the world in a very different way and I think that's why they are often misinderstood. Or he's autistic.

I think they are good talent wise, I'm not an artist but from a pure talent perspective I wouldn't say they are worth millions. I think big art values is a lot about perception and marketing.
For comparison.. This is what local artist around here who paints and sells them for maybe $1000 from pretty much usually wherever he paints them (sells them off the painting stand).

I'm maybe a little jaded but I think the era of great oil painters is sort of over. If you go to any major museum you'll find artists who can paint you a near exact duplicate of ANY significant painting. But their paintings, which are copies obviously, aren't worth ****. Why is that? Because it's a Mona Lisa painted by Joe Blow and not the Mona Lisa painted by Da Vinci. The original has the cache of being the first... not any objective merit. It's why a Jackson Pollack will sell for millions while a painting that you or I make which pretty much looks identical isn't worth diddly.
Anything subjective is strange that way. The painter means nearly as much, if not more, than the painting. So while I like this kid's paintings, if he's going to become one of the great artists of all time he'll really have to invent some new style... which he could very well do, of course.
All of this is my opinion. That should go without saying but I said it anyway.
I like these too. I have simple tastes in art.
That Palm Beach one sucks though, lol.~ Never Having Kids So Can Save Up For a 4K TV and a PLP Computer Setup Crew ~

I agree in terms of ability. But they've stood on the shoulders of giants, as the saying goes.
It'd be something odd if artists got worse over time.
Originality is something that you can't improve on the same way though. And it becomes more and more difficult to be original as ideas get used up. You then have to be exceptionally creative to come up with something new.
I don't know what your opinion is on digital paintings but I like them? Less impressive than with real media because real media is more difficult to work with and there's no CTRL-Z. On the other hand the amount of detail and precision you can get with digital is exponentially higher.
This is pretty good for a 3-year old. (?) I kinda like it haha and would pay $10 for it. $50 if it was framed.~ Never Having Kids So Can Save Up For a 4K TV and a PLP Computer Setup Crew ~

Yep.. most artists despise art critics because most art critics are people who have no artistic talent themselves and fit the wannabe trendy hipster mold. And because they have no talent themselves they pretend that they can see things in paintings which others can't which is why they are so drawn to promoting abstract art.

But that's the thing, people are much much more creative than before. Now we create art from imagination, something that wasn't done before. All the fantasy, sci fi art and painting things that aren't possible in our current world and all done at an insane level.
As for digital painting, I'm a digital painter myself and I think it greatly enhances the possibilities of illustration. Maybe it requires less technical skills but it isn't any less impressive. It's just another medium. A good artists knows how to work with all mediums, and digital is the quickest, cheapest and with help of internet, easiest to share.

Not sure if I can agree here.
