    Trutein before workout

    Hello everyone!
I've been taking a trutein shake mixed with berries and almond milk in the morning one hour before my workouts for several months. But I am thinking that I might not be getting the benefits of this protein shake because of that. I need to eat something before I exercise, because if I don't, I feel dizzy and don't have energy. So I first thought that the trutein shake would be a good choice. But I don't know.If it is not a good thing to do, then What should I get before a workout, and what afterwards? I want to get ripped and lose a few last pounds, too.
    Please advise.

What benefits are you expecting to get? Drinking a shake is totally fine preworkout. As long as you meet your daily requirements, you are getting the benefit.

I want to get ripped. My diet is usually clean and high protein. So I would like to know what supplements I need for that, and how should I take them.

Op, head over to the nutrition section. Read the stickies in that section of the forum as they will give you a better insight on how to achieve your goals. Protein timing isn't that important as long as you meet your protein requirements for the day. You mentioned you want to consume foods pre workout, try mixing oatmeal with a scoop of protein. That is my usual pre workout meal.

Supplements do just that only supplement what you are not getting enough in. If you are reaching your protein requirements through whole foods, then there is no reason for a shake.

Your diet and training are what is going to determine that not supplements. You should head over to the Nutrition Forum and read the stickies, very important information there.

Protein powder is there to help you meet your protein macros if you can't through whole foods, timing is pretty irrelevant.
