Got into fight with employee, might be banned from Chipotle location. Did I goof?

So after church this morning, I stopped to grab lunch at Chipotle like always. The one near me is in a VERY busy parking lot. Often there are no empty spaces at all. The only one I could find today had this sign:



My logic was that I was going to Chipotle, even though I didn't "order ahead". I either had to park there or they'd lose my business. I wasn't going to eat there- I'd be in the restaurant for 5 minutes tops.

I walk in and the whale behind the counter had seen me park, asked if I was picking up an online order. I said no and started ordering. She told me I had to move my car or they wouldn't serve me. I started explaining there were no open spots, and they are turning away business because I parked in a space designated FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. She repeated herself. I told her the sign didn't say they could tow, so I wasn't moving. She still refused to serve me. I told her fine, I was walking next door to Jersey Mike's, and still wasn't moving my car.

I then went next door to Jersey Mike's, ordered a cheese steak, then brought it back into Chipotle to sit down and eat. She yells over the counter "what are you doing, you can't eat that here!?". I ignore her entirely. She actually comes out from around the counter and explains she's calling the police for trespassing unless I leave with my sandwich. I tell her go ahead, and she walks back behind the counter angry. Finish my sandwich and leave.

Was this my fault brahs? I'm not sure after all this if they'd serve me in the future (if she's there). Customers were bert-staring the situation.

I guess you've never worked in the restaurant industry. Buying food from one place then sitting down to eat it at another is the easiest way to get bert stared or kicked out by employees.

I know this. I did it because I was still mad at the stupid chick who wouldn't sell me my damn tacos. Probably not the most adult approach, but it was sorta lulzy.

Funny OP, I was going to make a post talking about my experience going to Chipotle after I ordered online. Some car was parked in the burrito loading zone designated for me while that person was eating a cheesesteak bought from somewhere ELSE, INSIDE Chipotle of all places. That guy was a major *******.

Why would you eat your sub there? Not sure if roll bread, but I park in the burrito loading spot all the time and can get a carry out or even eat there and they never complain. The location by my house, not Cali, also has a nj mikes. A sub from there pales in comparison to a burrito.

Customer is always right. Yeah you shouldn't have parked there. But an employee doesn't call them out on parking in the wrong space. Especially if the lot was full. You probably won't lose a customer if the iphone spot is taken up. You likely will lose a spot if you embarrass a person and make them move their car. Bish at the register was an idiot.

If I were her boss I would have rolled that damn bish out the door and told her not to come back.

That said, unless you want spit in your food I wouldn't go back in the future.
