"A disease is an abnormal condition that affects the body of an organism"
so being below average height is a disease? that's abnormal. there's nothing FUNCTIONALLY wrong with an obese person other than the clogged arteries etc. obesity itself is not a disease.
you're losing the argument so you point to semantics, and even then you're still losing. get f*cked.

Obesity was "chosen" to be a disease recently. So silly. Since obesity fits the definition for some people, and not others (since for many it does not impart anything negative on the "inflicted"), it is a symptom and nothing more.
Two years from now the definition of obesity will change again, and suddenly more people have a disease, lol.take care misc, it's been fun

Yes, if it affects the physiology
Lol there is a helluva lot that is FUNCTIONALLY wrong with an obese person other than the clogged arteries
come back when you have an elementary school education
It's "pointing to semantics" in a discussion about "disease" when someone has no idea what "disease" means?
oh lawd
seriously, elementary school education pls

Never go full retard...
edit: lol at everyone ITT saying that obesity is a disease. It's primal instinct to eat food. If you put a dog in a room full of unlimited dog food, it's going to keep eating until it is sick. Does this dog have a disease? It's exact same thing with humans, just some of us have more self-control than others.Last edited by Glarch; 07-10-2013 at 05:52 AM.
"If you look at the majority of the population, they are average — and that’s because they lack the discipline needed to become the small percentage of people who have lives that are actually worth something in this world. Discipline is one of the most necessary traits for success."

whats embarrassing is a sheep that follows and perpetuates everything the CDC says. since being very tall is a deviation from the norm which can impair some functions, there's nothing to stop them from classifying it as a "disease". but this is all semantics. as obesity should obviously not be classified as a disease since theres an indefinite number of causes, but only one symptom, which, strictly speaking is less a deviation from the norm now than it was 50 years ago.

the obesity itself is caused by behaviour. if things caused by behaviour can be considered diseases, then by the same logic, being an ******* is a disease, and so is speeding.
THE CAUSE OF THE SYMPTOM (the symptom being their fatness) is NOT due to any physiological or medical problem. its purely behavioural (lazieness, ect)(i'm talking about for the majority of fatties)
thats like saying that a torn bicep as a result of a bad deadlift is a disease.*says 'negged' but doesnt actually neg crew*
*half my posts are drunk, the other half might as well be crew*
