Hitler never intended to fight Britain. It was Britain's pact with Poland which forced Germany and Britain to go to war. According to the diaries of Hitler's bodyguard - Britain signing a pact with Poland sent Hitler into a deep depression because he knew he would be forced to fight a country he admired. Britain could have sat back and not got involved during the war.

And why do British people think they are liberators? Maybe because they liberated. Duh.
