A better question is SHOULD 13 y/o's BE lifting weights?
And on top of that when did dead lifts and bench press become body weight exercises? Who's opinion is it the HE has really good form?
If ur friend wants to lift weights them get him a coach with a reputable record with kids n teenagers. Otherwise 13 year olds shouldn't be lifting weights...

Yes you can but you will only get strength gains, not to much gains around the physique way because your puberty cycle isnt done yet.

More likely to hurt yourself if anything. You haven't finished growing wait until you're 15-16 because you will hurt yourself badly if you mess it up. You wont put on muscle either until around those ages.

Lift!!! develope good habits and you'll be fine. I started at 12, you wont gain physique or put on pounds of muscle only strengthen the muscle you already have, Therefore eating big is good if you have a high metabolism and were SUPER skinny like I was but if not It can turn to fat and nobody wants that because your not bulking at that age. I didnt gain/develope noticible muscles until I was 14. My advice is lift but everyone has there own opinion on this.
