Not a clue man, that's the strangest thing.

After seeing a hard workout you may want to complain and want others to pity you for the work you have to do. Your mom will pity you. Your girl will pity you. I may pity you, but your competition will not pity you. They will step on you, walk over you and spit on you. Boris Sheiko

I'm thinking I might go back to that for after the meet as far as programming the main lifts - I have a different kind of plan in mind for the variations though. Probably just gonna upper lower my way into the meet or something.
I was quite strong when I was doing it too in the summer honestly, I doubt I could squat 355x8 right now like I did then! lol.
I'll see how things go, who knows lol.YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/NorthStrongSC

Commentary
Well today was weird. I'm pretty much sticking with PIP1 leading into the meet because it's best not to **** around with things this close I suppose - however I am just doing the competition lifts on volume day as well now for extra practice (aka ****ing around with things this close, lol)
squatting was quite painful again, was going for 6 originally but cut the first set short at 2 reps because didn't wanna kill myself. The singles afterwards felt a bit better over time, strangely enough, but then the odd one would hurt, so I am not sure what to do, aka take a week off of squatting, or what...anyway so that was "volume"
benching was alright, just got in some volume actually according to the plan I laid out for myself.
Deadlifting is hard and I still don't know how to do it. Gonna just stick with my fuked up form leading into the meet and hope I don't break my spine, and then fix it after the meet I guess.YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/NorthStrongSC

Commentary
I am fuking dead right now holy sh!t. That was literally about four hours of lifting lol. I got there, did main work, talked to friend who was working for a while. Then I did some fluff stuff, talked more. Other friends came in, so I had to bench with them obviously. Then another friend was there so I got him to look at my deadlifts so I went up to 350 ish and he said they were good, which I'm happy with because of all the deadlifting that preceeded it.
Actually had a lot of fun today in the gym and got a lot of work done (clearly).
On to the actual important stuff...
Deadlifts felt alright - 385 moved really fast, so I know I will be able to hit at least a small PR at the meet (413.2 being previous best). I felt like I was really rounded over, but when I got to 350 later on in the workout it felt just as bad / round, but the people watching said it was only in the upper back, although I felt just super round throughout.
Benchign was decent, like I said I think I had a third in me but I just touched way too high on my chest. Oh well. That's what the program called for anyway was just keep adding 5lbs lol.
Next week (assuming I can squat...) I will do a heay double on squat and bench, and a heavier but still easyish single on deadlifts.
Then singles all around the next week.
Then deload / smash weights at the meet assuming nothing goes wrong.
Been having some pretty hard life stress going on lately honestly and I think that is a factor, but I talked about it with the GF yesterday and I felt better after that (nothing to do with her). And hopefully nothing goes wrong with that family situation that would cause me to miss the meet, but if it does it takes priority obviously.YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/NorthStrongSC

Upper/lower is goat.
dat volume
dat frequency
people have always told me i do way too much. but i love volume. although it catches up with me on my deadlift days, so i have to follow an actual routine for it or i'll drive myself into the ground.

I know you had wanted to cut some bodyfat so if that's a priority after the meet obviously do that. But I think you could benefit from focusing on gaining some muscle for awhile. I know you're a fan of Mike israetel and he talks about phases of training and ****. Obviously keep the main lifts with a powerlifting focus, but just get yolked with the other ****. I'd bet when you'd move back to 100% strength stuff you'd see some good gains.
just my 2ccs
