(Note: I originally posted at my web site YLIFT.com, I thought that you guys might get a kick out of it.)
There comes a time in every manís life when he has to make a commitment. Heís spent a good amount of time and invested a good amount of money and he knows in his heart that what he is committing to is true love. He knows that no matter how tempted he may be, no matter what diversions are scattered on the road ahead, that he will be 100 percent faithful.
And love, being as it is a game of give and take, that love that he gives will also be the love he receives. He knows that if he puts in 100 percent, that heíll get back 100 percent. He knows that heís had some great times with his love, but even greater times are ahead. He also knows that this love of his is an ever changing environment, and as part of his commitment he plans to change and adapt to new situations. Who knows, maybe his love interest will change too. Love can be a damn exciting thing when you think about it.
I know, I bet all of my readers are scratching theyíre heads thinking that Iíve lost mine. Has Alex gone a little sappy?
Youíre damn right I have. I love lifting so much that Iíve decided to make a life commitment to it. Iím making a life commitment to eating right, lifting consistently and heavily, and living the best life I can. When Iím 70 years old, I want the young bucks in the gym to stand in awe. And I want the older women in the gym to leave their musty granny panties in my gym bag along with their room number at the nursing home.
You see, love for lifting can be a lot like love for a woman. You know the times youíve had together have been amazing, and you know the times that will come in the future will be even more amazing. Maybe youíll even discover a new lifting technique (which may or may not be as amazing as kinky sex). But the point Iím trying to make is that if you stay true to lifting, it will stay true to you. No matter whether your goals have to do with that big powerlifting meet a few months away, or whether you just want to look good on the beach.
Iíve been going at it in the gym for close to four years now, and Iíve read countless books, studies, and Iíve even written a fair bit here on YLift. And guess what? I still donít believe that Iíve begun to tap the surface of this amazing lifestyle. But Iím going to keep going until the day I am no longer physically able. And Iím going to help as many people as I can along the way. Even if you donít know much or if youíre a beginner you can still help people by telling them about this site. Itís really quite simple, the next time someone asks you a lifting related question that youíre not quite sure about just tell them to go to YLift.com and type the question into our search engine. If they canít find the question that way, have them ask it in our forums. If I donít know the answer Iíll find out.
No matter how many obstacles that stand In your way, no matter how many fights you get into with those weights, remember that youíve vowed to stay in this relationship. You will overcome those problems, and you will be stronger because of it.
Ďtil death do us part!
