Assessing a new client this morning. Obese middle aged guy says he hasint been in the gym for some time. I lol'd and said that's for sure.
He also said he felt very doughy around the midsection.
Later in the workout I said " keep going dough boy" making a joke out of his earlier comment.
Guy obviously has no sense of humour as he said he will be going to a diff rent PT from now on.
Not a single **** was given by me.

That was pretty unprofessional, regardless if he said it earlier or not. You don't need to reiterate his insecurities that he is confiding in you about and solely because of your professional dynamic you were going to engage in - especially jokingly.
It isn't his loss, it's yours. You obviously do care or you wouldn't have made a thread trying to drum up support for your bad call.

Cool. So a "dough boy" client finally wanted to make a positive change with his life and he went to a paid professional (and I'm using that term very loosely here) to get ridiculed.
Great positive reinforcement.
