why must i support gays? surely i should support someone based on their character not their sexual orientation which they have no choice over.

I'm not a christian but i'm pretty sure you need to condemn gay acts and repent in order to call your self a christian. You have homosexual tendencies which makes it hard to refrain from such actions but should you actually practice self control in this matter the reward will be greater than say someone who doesnt have those tendencies and never acts upon them.

The gay parades and all that i'm very much against. and it sickens me to be honest...but I'm against violence against gays etc.

I have battled with this for years... and can now confidently say that you are incorrect. I have read the bible and studied every passage that people use to condemn homosexuality. Every single verse is taken out of context and simply read at face value... Often times with poorly translated words that only complicate the matter.

Being a Christian literally means "a follower of Christ". Jesus never once condemned homosexuality.

As far as gay pride parades... I would have agreed with you before this weekend. I went to my first one and was pleasantly surprised. Not at all what everyone sees on the news and quite family friendly. In fact, many people had their kids there. Just a normal parade for the most part.

most people I know 15-25 support gay marriage, only retards who are acutally in power 35+ are the ones who are usally found to be against it.

Times change and religion needs to too. Christianity is filled with contradictions. So much so it's no surprise more and more people lose faith in it.

All of this "human rights" "gays are like black people" talk needs to stop. its not that huge of a deal. The main issue today is a tax issue and job benefits and the state recognizing your marriage. Everything else is fine for you. People dont like you cause youre gay... why cry? Your rights are intact.
