This is me @ 200lbs 6ft1
Body fat %? Give me a estimate
Am I ready for a cut like many have suggested?
170lbs 8%bf plausible on my cut?
I know there's been many wanting to see a photo to determine where I'm at, so here it is.
^^^^This is when I woke up and had a protein shake, cold no warm up before, and completely relaxed.
Thank you

Yeah man, Around 168-174lbs, You should of never bulked, you shouldn't listen to people on this forum man, a lot of people think if your not 200lbs @ 10% your doing it wrong, when in reality, a 6ft man in real life at 170-180lbs @10% is still going to be impressive.
You gotta remember this is a bodybuilding forum, so number's are always over exaggerated, it's easy to e-stat"The reason why we struggle with insecurity is because we compare our behind the scenes with everyone else's highlight reel."

stick to one thing man, and get rid of the 8-10% notion. If you've never cut before or have trouble cutting, that range is not feasable. Just cut to a decent body fat firs then assess.

Time2cut! (should have kept cutting). You seriously put on like 8 pounds of fat, sorry
Stop listening to everyone who thinks at 5'8 you should be 185 lbs lean, not even joking. LMAO you got fat, you didnt have to listen to me but i told you that you should have not bulked at all, you are about 20% now. You literally have moobs and a gut, you went the opposite direction. Stay out of the nutrition forum and you are golden.
There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

It's so crazy the difference in the picture I saw a few weeks ago and this one here.
Don't worry about those abs so much this time. Destroy the weight room. Deadlift and squat your ass off. What lifting program are you on?
Go slow. Don't make your deficit to large. Don't set an 8-10% range, just keep going until you are happy with what you see.
I know you can get to your goal for sure just be patient and stick with it, don't switch to something else in another month.

Haha dudes I had no idea bulking at 3k calories a day would make me gain fat like that. I'm just going to stay away from the forum for now until I'm where I want to be "lean with abs". So I can keep focused on this one goal
20%bf puts me at 40lbs of fat right now
170lbs @ 8% 13.6lbs of fat
(40)-(13.6)=26.4lbs to lose
200lbs-26.4lbs of fat=173.6lbs @ 8% for me
Hope I did this right^, and of course I will mainly be going by mirror

You're going to tell me that he has calculated that he needs to lose 27 lbs of fat and because he lifts heavy and has a high protein diet he will lose 0 lbs of muscle and 27 lbs of fat? In a caloric deficit.
OP, stop with the predictions already. Now you are set on 165-173. And again all the obsession with abs. What happens when you get there and aren't 8%? Will you quit?Last edited by MrM27; 07-01-2013 at 09:18 AM.

I believe I saw a post from you that said you gained about 14lb in 1 month of bulking. Is that correct? Next time you're on a bulk, pay more attention to how much you're gaining. Take BF measurements, waist measurements, etc. In my opinion, anything more than 2lb a month is too much. People say to gain 1lb a week, but that's 52lb a year which is VERY unlikely that it is all muscle so I would definitely not do that.
It seems like different parts of the forum give different advice or recommendations. When I first started lifting, I was in the supplement and teen bodybuilding forum all the time and everybody always said "eat everything in sight" or "eat 3000+ calories plus". I gained 30lb of fat the first 3 months of lifting because of that advice. When I came back on here and looked around the nutrition and losing fat section, I then realized I just ate too damn much. So you need to pretty much just figure things out on your own. I can say that what calculators and what most people on here tell me are WAY too much. I lose about 1lb a week at 1800 calories. That tells me I need to eat maybe 2500-2600 calories a day to gain muscle and (hopefully) minimize fat.

While I was under the initial impression the OP basically just started his bulk a month or so a go (because not long before that I recall him talking about how great cutting on IIFYM was), I look at his body space and he has basically shot up 30 lbs since the beginning of February (even averaged out that's 6 lbs a month, into dirty bulk territory). So he must have been effectively bulking most of that time and any cutting was very short-lived.

I am going to suggest that he did it wrong. (A lot of first time bulkers do)
OP, a clean bulk is not an excuse to stop counting calories and eat everything but the kitchen sink. You should have take a 2 week transition back to maintenance then slowly added calories back in till you were gaining 2lb/month. Had you done that, right now you would be 6lbs heavier then when you started and the majority of it would be muscle. (You would look better than when you started. The way it sits now you will have a 15-20lb cut ahead of you and may lose some of the 4lbs of muscle you added. My Reverse Diet Log

I have little doubt that he did it wrong (I did it wrong twice or more). He was probably getting a little optimistic, and it's easy to do when your arm circumference shoots up a measurable amount and what not.
OP's main issue to me seems to be too much focus on the "visuals" of the goal (e.g. movie-shape celebrity or photo-shoot ready celebrity stats), less on the execution and tenacity. And tenacity is the big thing. Initially I found it disappointing he was terminating a bulk so early. But the fact was, the actual "bulking phase" was longer than I had thought and I don't see much to gain by continuing the bulk atm.
