is there critical thinking involved in being a doctor? a patient shows up with certain symptoms. what does a doctor do? he just goes back in his memory to what those symptoms lead to. that's it. it's just A LOT of memorization.

i don't wanna sacrifice years of my life memorizing stuff. that's all medical students do. they sit down and read and memorize the things they read. no critical thinking or intelligence is required. just a lot of sacrificed time memorizing a bunch of facts.

No. The pool of engineers is huge - brb no interview, no admissions process, just maintain a passable GPA.

Some engineers are smarter than doctors but on average I'd say the average MD is smarter. Although MD is memorization --> Memorizing and knowing are different. It takes time + practical experience for doctors to get to the level where they know things. Also not to mention memorization is a fundamental component of intelligence. They also get paid more.

Engineering is an undergraduate degree generally, its nothing insane.
