i want to buy some new workout gloves. the local stores only carry harbinger, which are cheap (price and materiel) are more expensive gloves noticeably better?

Buy a good pair of leather gloves, I've used the golds gym max lift, well they're called something like that anyway. They seem okay, material ones see, to tear very quickly. Most gloves seem to need replacing after a few months of heavy lifting anyway.
I've tried to man up and lift bare palm but it seems to affect my hands too much.
